That shouldn't be a problem - Sony bought minolta, and based their DSLR's off the minolta line. This lens is supposed to work with the Sony without any problems.

Specifically for the A300 I do not know, but generally for any camera you will bracket three frames in the range of -1 to +1. I believe the A300 allows you to choose either aperture shutter or ISO. I recommend going to www.dpreview.com and them Discussion forums/Sony DSLR and ask the question there. You will find many helpful A300/350 users there.

It depends on the mount on the camera.
Quantaray is a 3rd party lens maker. They make the lens itself, then add a mount for each brand of camera lens mount. In some cases, you can have the mount changed at a camera shop.
But the only way to answer your question is to know what camera it was used on previously. If it was used on a Sony, then, likely, yes.
