Before you can download pictures from a camera to a computer, you have to install the software that came with the camera. First install the software, than connect the camera and switch it on.
The computer needs to know what it should do with the new device connected to the USB port. So a driver and a program have to be in place to tell the computer, not to charge the camera, but to down;road pictures. If you lost your Kodak CD, you can download the software here:

In order to fix this issue....u need to uninstall the kodak home center software from your computer and then u need to reinstall the kodak home center software on your computer.

select the option for appropriate operating system and the download will start.

You don't really need the Kodak software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Press the SAVE button, find a place on your hard drive and save the file. Double click the install_easyshare.exe file and it will install the file. Follow the instructions below.

Installation Instructions

1. Verify that your computer meets the system requirements. NOTE: APPLE QUICKTIME Player is required for some software features. Visit APPLE to download the latest version of the QUICKTIME Player.
   
2. Disconnect all accessory devices from your computer (digital camera, camera dock, printer dock, photo printer, card reader, etc.).
3. Verify that you logged on to the computer using the administrator account.
4. Close all programs.
5. Download the software, then follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
6. To launch the software select Start > Programs > Kodak > Kodak EasyShare > Kodak Easyshare software.

IMPORTANT: If you have a large picture collection, allow a few minutes after your computer restarts before starting EASYSHARE Software. EASYSHARE Software windows appear after your previous picture catalog has been updated

After the installation are completed, reboot if not asked to do so. You can copy the install_easyshare.exe file to a CD for later installation if needed.

did you recieved an erroer message while installing? or its just froze up?., the minimum requirement of the software is Pentium 4 2.0 GHZ below that software will not work properly.,

first thing you need to do if you alredy tried to install the software, try to do the clean Uninstallation
download the clearutility for the software at kodak.com/go/clear secon, do the diskcleanup at turn off the firewall of your computer., download the lates version of easyshare software at kodak.com/go/easysharesw., just click the download for free to install the latest software.,
by d way if you unable to install it call kodak toll free 1 800 235 6325 and they will help you how to install your softwar., Gudluck!

you mean a kodak m753? i have one they should just download liek a picture, except it will be a video. just plug it into your computer, and if that doesn't work maybe you're looking for it in the wrong place.
