You can't hurt it any more than it is, so I would try a liquid paint remover/stripper and let the metal parts soak over night. I'd be more careful with the plastic parts. Poke in the holes with a fine wire (paper clip) or pin. About the service manual, use a search engine (Dogpile, google) and search the web.

be sure to push both valves with your finger to ensure they are not stuck. If they are not remove the large inlet valve and inspect the diaphram. If it is bulged out then that is your problem

You have to take it apart and there is a ball check stuck open. Tap the ball with a wooden stick to free it up.

On my Wagoner sprayer, it is possible to turn the nozzle 180 degrees to clear it. Does yours have this feature? I thought my sprayer was faulty (being very cool myself, I didn't read the instructions) maybe due to non use or age as it has sat on the shelf for two years since last use. I bran out and bought another one. After about 10 minutes of use, the new one stopped. I cleaned and cleared and still had no luck. I bought pipe cleaner and little brushes ... you wouldn't believe all the trouble I went to to make sure the nozzle was clear. I was convinced the trouble was with the motor and not the nozzle. Then, I read the instructions ... they said to turn my nozzle 180 degrees and pull the trigger - IT WORKED!)
If yours will not spray, there is a motor trouble or there is a clog somewhere between where the paint is and the nozzle. Believe this and believe that the sprayer was made to work and it was not made to not work and you will discover your trouble.
Thanks for your question ... I hope I have provided some insight for you.
