How to lock drum for moving

all machines come with installed Transit bolts, these are removed before the machine is used, and should be kept in case you need to move the machine later on. The transit bolts lock the drum to prevent movement whilst moving the machine. If you do not have these, I would suggest looking for some. However I have moved a machine without the bolts in and as long as you are reasonably careful there should be no problems.

Asko w6444 front loader drum vibrating quite loudly. Feet are level. Any suggestions.

Check the 3 transit bolts on the backside of the machine. Should be removed. Could also be a problem with the balancing spring on the top of the drum, so the drum tilts a bit forward, and cause noise

Excessive vibrations on spin(transit bolts)

you must remove these transit bolts . after you do try it . of course the legs of the washer must be set to make the machine levl. and then make sure the lock nuts on each leg are tightened. with a level machine with the leg locknuts tight the machine should spin smoothly. if you fasled to remove the transit bolts first then you may have damaged the suspension. then you will have to call for professional service. good luck

We just moved our washer from our old home and now the washer overflows during the soap cycle?

Check all water hoses. While transporting you should have used the transit bolts supplied by the manufacturer!
May the water hoses are torn in transit or got separated from it's fixing seat.

I left the transit bolts in our "brand new" zanussi washing machine and am afraid to use it as I do not know what damage might have been done.

Highly unlikely any damage will have been done so long as it hasnt been in use for a long time (weeks).

In a front loading washing machine, most of the mechanicals inside are held between springs at the top and dampers at the bottom. The transit bolts are used to minimse how much movement can ocour whilst the machine is in transit as excessive movement could damage the springs/dampers. When they are removed, normal movement of the mechanicals helps keep the machine stable and minmises vibration.

So, the worst that happens when the machine is used with the transit bolts in place is it vibrates alot, and possible moves about.

Remove the bolts as soon as possible and it should be fine.

Transit brackets

Hiya .. the transit bolts are located under the lid at either side ..or at the rear... they are fairly long bolts which hold the drum and balance in place.. until installation. they will be sheathed in fairly hefty rubber grommets.

Screws for removal of lid located at the rear..2- or 4.. remove these slide lid front to back.. remove bolts if they are they are present... refit lid... note uneven siting of an appliance can cause excessive vibration as well!

Let me know if this sorts your prob
