How can i stop the black backgrouund in the copy?

Have you checked your cartridge also try do an alignment test

Clean the thin glass strip that sits to the left of the flat bed glass.

That is the glass used when the ADF is being utilized.
There is dirt on it causing the black streak.

check ur drum for these lines while stopping the copying in between the process.if u can remove the lines with cloth then u have to change the drum blade. this is related to drum section

paten glass is the copy board glass.try cleaning both side,if still same.it can be off in additional funtion [copy board glass sign.turn it to off ]

The procedure for stop copy is you press red and then machine ask you left or right pointer for yes or no.Is thath way did you stop copying?

If yes it may be machine system problem.

Try placing sheet of black text on copy board, and run many copies black only. I ran 25x12 times still no black. Run head clean after about each 50 sheets. Persevered and finally BLACK ink OK Inkypete

try a white piece of paper placed over the top of the picture to reflect the white light of the copyier give it a try.

I had the same problem. I cleaned the strip above the glass and this fixed the problem. Hope it helps!

Either the Fuser/Heating unit is bad, or the optics are dirty.
What you can try to do to narrow it down, is to make a copy but.. STOP the machine in mid process by turning the power off. This will create a paper jam in the machine. If timed properly, your copy should be 1/2 way through the machine with some image on it. (Make sure that you are trying to copy something on the glass). The copy is not FUSED, so the toner will wipe off so be careful not to rub the page against your clothes/sleeve. IF the black line is on the page at this point, the problem is not in the fuser but probably in the fiber optics. If the problem is in the optics and will need to be cleaned. If the black line is NOT on the page at this point, then the fuser unit is bad and needs to be replaced.
Let me know how the copy comes out when you stop the machine in midway and I can see if i can give you any more suggestions.
