SOURCE: boat battery 12 volt drains

1 - isolate the swithc completely
2 - remove the +ve terminal from battery
3 - conduct continuity check between +ve & -ve lines from on any lines possible.

A short is unlikely, as this would either blow a fuse, or cause you a fire.

It does sound like you have something that is draining power constantly, or you have something that has risen in resistance (water environment can cause verdigris and bridging to occur) this is not enough to power the given unit, but certainly enough to drain a battery.
HINT - Apply vaseline to any exposed copper or contact points.

SOURCE: Clarion M5675 won't turn on

Take the stereo all the way out and hook the black wire to the negative terminal and the yellow and the red wire to the positive terminal on a charged car battey. If it still does not turn on you may have fuse in the back of the deck. If not it's probably fried.

SOURCE: battery not getting charged-power supply on ac power

hi thanks for using fixya!!

Is your laptop is brand new? Try to remove the battery. Then, try using your laptop and AC adapter without the battery, you will get the power supply directily from AC adapter. If it works properly, then its okay. Now, try to install back your battery then try to charge it. If not charging, perhaps you need to buy a new battery. However, I suggest you bring your laptop to a service technician to further check the error, before you purchase a new battery.

If you need further assistance, let me know!

SOURCE: haier hdn305 dehumidifier does not turn on

Had the same problem with two HDN455's and took them to a local electronics repair shop. They replaced a Zener ZD2 diode for a total cost of $53 and now is working fine.

I have a Whirlpool solid-state Mark2 top loading washer powers on but just clicks when I push the run button

Pull the unit away from the wall where you can get behind it. Take the access panel off . From the back the control panel. If you have a good multi-meter. Set it on 200 volt AC. Check power at a easily accessible power out let. If you get between 110 and 120 volt reading .your meter is good. Check voltage at starter button with the unit plugged in have someone try the button while you checking for power. If you're not familiar with electrical wiring might have to call someone who is. Chances are your on off switch is bad or the timer is .

Line voltage indicator false indication of voltage variations

Voltmeters usually read RMS on ac volts therefore 120 volts is OK while the indicator is reading peak volts. If unit is operational there is no problem.

AC surge current?

you are missing the voltage supply here to get an definitive answer
for 240 volts drawing 4.8 amps the required wattage is 1152
for 120 volts the wattage is 576 watts
for 120 volts with a current of 900 watts , it equates to 7.5 amps
with 240 volts with a current of 1150 watts , it equates to 4.79 amps
so you can see the problem by not stating the supply voltage
get access to an cable clamp amp meter / watt meter from an electrician and read the current on starting the ac unit
if it exceeds 900 watts for 120 volts or 1150 for 240 volts , consider a bigger generator

Not getting water to go Got washing

Hello,

Their are a few things that will prevent it from filling
  1. The float in the tub has something caught under it..pull out lower rack and check
  2. The float switch is bad...pull off kick plate below door and use a meter set to a low ohms setting and when checking switch if good will be zero ohms. OL if bad
  3. the control is bad and not sending power to float switch..use meter set to volts ac check for 120 volts ac to switch. to do that place one meter lead on a wire on float switch and on the a metal peice (leg, frame ect) and check for 120 vac, if 120 vac at switch the control is good if not replace control, this check must be done when d/w is supposed to fill( usually at the begining of a cycle)
  4. water valve.. use meter set check vac and check for 120 vac to plug(one meter lead on each wire) when supposed to fill, if 120 vac, needs inlet water valve
  5. water from house plumbing is restricted...loosen supply line nut and check for incoming water
Good luck,i hope this helps

I live in germany (military) what is the power 120-240?

Good day!! The 120-240 power simply means the supply of your TV can be plug in to 120 Volts AC to 240 Volts AC that will come out to your outlet. For example your outlet is 120 Volts AC you can plug in your TV in there. In short your TV supply is auto-volt.
I hope this information could help you.Thank you.

Diswasher will not start I had been running it and pushed the start button and it will not run. Checked to make sure was shut tight and if electricty was on,

My dishwasher will not start: Most common d/w power is 120 volts, check for 120 volts with a volt meter at the main power harness where it enters into the dishwasher, you will have to remove the lower access panels to get to the power box. Dishwashers also have at least one and most newer dishwashers have two door switches that must be checked. You will find then behind the console at the door latch area. Each manufacture has different designs.

What engine should fit my 28´bayliner boat

Yes there is. Saw one at a boat show and I believe it was also Swedish. You may want to look for used replacements on the web. I do not know where you live, but there are boats on the Great lakes with low hours because of the short boating season. There are also victims of hurricanes with good engines down South.

Won't start

take an AC VOLT Meter and place the leads of the meter where the power cord terminates, one on the white lead and one on the black. There should be 110-120 volts AC. If that is good then move one of your meter leads to the other side of the on switch. With the on switch ON there should be 110-120 volts AC.If that is good, you may want to connect the motor directly to wall current to ensure that it is good. BE VERY CAREFULL IF YOU DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before you do anything be sure to make sure that there is not a breaker or reset button somewhere on the machine that has been overlooked.
