Bosch SHU3036UC/U11 dishwasher does not stop filling with water

We have a Bosch SHU3036UC/U11 dishwasher that occasionally does not want to stop at the end of the rinse cycle. It continues to fill and drain simultaneously. I've not listened closely enough to see if this process happens throughout the entire cycle. The other day when the cycle was supposed to be complete, I pulled the door lever which shut the power off. The thing sure fills quietly because I came back a few minutes later to find water running across the kitchen floor. Obviously, the water kept running. I restarted the unit and it drained out. The unit finally stopped filling... not sure what I did if anything. I haven't used it since. Any idea how and where to start diagnosing the shutoff problem?

Hi,
It sounds as if the main program board has developed a fault - as it should come to a complete stop. The fact it kept the water valve open with the door open is a serious fault- so I would have it checked before using it again.

Most machines have a water-stop feature - so if it develops a leak - it will shut off the water. This clearly didn't happen.

Bosch shu3036uc gets stuck during cycles.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description " bosch shu3036uc gets stuck during cycles
"

I suspect the thermostat isn't satisfied when heating the water, hence it get`s hung up trying to heat in the part`s of the cycle it`s called for.

It very well could be caused by a faulty flow switch, NTC or heater as well but not very likely.

The dishwashers made by Bosch with a rotary dial timer have very few if any, issues with the actual timer or element but they do with the thermostat within the door panel.

If it ( the thermostat ) is not satisfied the water may heat but not be indicated via the thermostat, hence timer will not advance.

Here`s what you can try. If you have any hesitation or reluctance to service this yourself please call in an authorized B/S/H/ ( Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau ) appliance technician.

**Turn off the breaker at the service panel before attempting any service suggested **

  1. You will require a #20 torx screwdriver to remove the door panel by taking out the screws around the panel, except the ones along the top ( watch the edges they are very sharp )

  2. Once the panel is removed you should see the thermostat over by the detergent dispenser clipped to the inner door, remove it and test it. You`ll need a ohm meter/multi-meter plus a lighter or match to heat it up to see if it open`s & closes.
Example...

**NOTE** it can occur the thermostat can become loose and detach from the bracket which holds it in place, this too can manifest in the sysmptom of the timer not advancing.

Let me know how you make out and what you find.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Bosch SHU3036UC draining on wash cycle

it is probably going to be a grimy door thermostat between the inner and outer panel. its hooked into the back of the soap dispenser. someone would have to take the outer panel off then clean wipe away the caked grime from the thermostat and put it back in its place. if this doesnt fix it then it could be a heat assembly problem or timer problem. in that case you would need an appliance tech out

Dishwasher repair

make certain that there is water coming into the d/w if so and you are sure that the solenoid on the water valve energizes then its possible that the strainer on the water valve might be clogged if so its going to take a bit of work to remove and clean the strainer and reasemble it are you confident .

Stuck on first step of cycle (water draining). shu3036uc.

this may be due to a leak which you are not aware of. there is a float switch in the base which if operates, turns on the drain pump and nothing else. to check, tilt the appliance backwards 45 deg and see if water comes out of the back. if so, you are faced with identifying the leak which is often the main pump
