My disc stops after a few minutes and says to check with microsoft support but that isn't helping

1. If your Sony DVD recorder player RDR-GX257's disc recorder has stopped working, don't despair! There are a few things you can try to get it up and running again.

2. First, check to see if the disc recorder is properly connected to your TV and to an electrical outlet. If everything is plugged in correctly, try pressing the "Reset" button on the back of the DVD recorder.

Here is the process for troubleshooting this specific issue:

• First remove your disc from the tray. I assume you have already done this.
• Ensure your faceplate (the front of your system) is on correctly. Sometimes these can become loose and off kilter. Press the two edges firmly with your hands and "push" it into place.
• Push the eject button. Although it hasn't worked in the past, adjusting the faceplate may correct the issue.
• If that doesn't work, move the disc tray drive gently from left to right when it is open. Again, be gentle-- what we're trying to do here is slightly adjust the disc tray in case it isn't entering your system properly.

The laser pickup unit is defective. Replace it with same type and number. OK.

How do you mean? The software isn't functioning right? Check your power management settings. You may need to adjust as computer may be going into a sleep mode.

When one purchases a new machine, the very first thing that the machine prompts to do is make a rescue disc. If you haven't got one, you will need to either purchase a new OS disc or check you have the licence key on the underside of your notebook and if you have, borrow a system disc to rescue your system.

The game requires Windows XP SP2, or Vista..So that should not be the problem.

First install the latest version of Direct X which you can download FREE HERE.

Below is a small summary of what may be causing your installation problems.
This seems to be a problem some users are having.It seems to be either software related (other software not the actual software on the FSX disc itself), or hardware related (DVD drive not reading the disc properly).

To try solve this issue, follow these steps in order. If the problem is solved after step 1 (for example) you do not need to follow the instructions following that step. if not solved, move to the next step in the chain.


1. Some DVD readers can take up to 2 minutes to detect disc #2 (for reasons unknown). If the disc appears not to be detecting, just leave the computer for a few minutes and come back and check. Some users have reported that the disc #2 finally detects and installs correctly several minutes after inserting the DVD into the drive.


2. Manually browse the Disc #2 file contents in either Windows Explorer, or by accessing the DVD through the "My Computer" option and check the files on Disc#2 are actually different to those on Disc #1.


3. If you have the hard drive space available, copy the contents of both DVDs to a temporary folder on your hard drive, and install the product from the hard drive copies.

suspect coils on gas valve if ignitor glows timer is working

I seem to have sorted this problem for me simply by unplugging power.
I actually left it for nearly a week before plugging in again, but I'm sure a day would do, probably less.
Dubbed 2 playlists since, no problem.
Nice simple solution if it works.
