Dovier ice cream maker- the unchilled cylinder makes a rattling sound- has something gone bad with the chemicals inside? I havent tried to make ice cream recently; it has set for many years without use....
The rattle noise is normal. My Donvier is 20 years old and still works well. I prefer using a large flat spoon to stir the contents by hand (no lid needed) Stirring by hand is easier and more efficient. Just don't touch the frozen cylinder with bare skin.

Hi. Have just bought one at a second hand shop and tried to make the Lemon Sorbet. Ing: 300ml lemon juice, 100g sugar, 1egg white and water. HOW MUCH WATER Please.
Lemon Sherbet Ingredients
  • 2 egg whites
  • 3 - 4 cups (500-750 ml) lemonade
  • sweeten to taste
Instructions Beat egg white until foamy but not dry. Mix in lemonade and sweetener and pour into Donvier. Freeze to desired consistency.

I bought the: DONVIER Ice Cream Maker Chillfast Hand Crank 1 Quart. and realize that the metal insert for making the ice cream in is probably aluminum. is there a replacement part for that that is made of...
