For the AO smith 1hp 115/230 v 3450 rpm pool pump motors what is the difference between the 48Y and/or 56Y square frame. Are they one in the same?

Check the breaker and fuses. does it have a control pack? could be a bad relay on the board. what was the problem that made you replace the pump?

Probably, I assume everything is c-face and it has enough power.

LOOK ON THE MOTOR LABEL IT WILL HAVE A PICTURE ON HOW TO CHANGE IT, OR TAKE THE COVER OFF THE BACK AND LOOK CLOSE YOU WILL SEE HOW TO CHANGE IT.. jay the pool pump motor repair guy in longwood Florida 32750 .. There is a schematic on the motor itself to show you exactly how to hook it up. The main thing is knowing whether it's 115 volt or 230 volt connection. Good luck any questions hit me back up.

If you haven't got your answer yet, I can help you, but it seems very late to reply. I have a same model, I take apart it, I see 2 bearings, you probably need puller to get it out.

Make sure you are wired correctly. There is different settings if the pump is 110 volt. The motor comes wired for 220 volt
