Pour in some vinegar (half) and some water (half) in the machine. Turn it on and let it run a bit. Make sure to do it outside since it smells badly. After that, rinse a few times before use.

Rowenta superpress DG 050 leaks water while steaming all over garment. Do I need to Descale the unit?

I've had the same problem with two Rowenta irons. When set to a lower temperature, the iron has a bad habit of leaking water when the steam option is on. I have to either turn up the temperature setting or shut off the steam option.

Why has the steam function has just stopped working - power on but nothing happens

My wife has one of these irons and she loved it. Now it steams for a while, and a red light starts blinking and it stops steaming. It can be turned back on and works for a while, then the same thing happens. I read that it needed descaled, so I bought OUST descaler and ran it through the iron, but it did not solve the problem. Any one have a solution to this problem, I would like to hear from you.

The tank in my rowenta iron is producing steam but the iron is not producing steam

Yes the iron needs to be cleaned. They do have a descaler to clean. the Steam valve with a electronic switch is broken, that is what opens and lets the steam out of the iron when you press the button.

Rowenta Professional Iron - steam button suddenly stopped working

Have you tried descaling it? It may well be blocked up with limescale. Personally I only ever buy cheap irons and bin them when they go wrong! As you say-they are generally too expensive to repair.

Rowenta steam iron no longer steams

Your local grocery or hardware store will sell "descaler" for coffee pots and irons.

Mix as instructed (water/descaler) and pour the disolved mix into the iron. Set the iron on the highest steam settings (heat and steam volume). After it is hot, let it steam into the sink, pressing the steam button over and over to let the descaler work through all the tubes/passages, until it has all been pumped out.

Refill with more descaler (if it is not completely unplugged) and repeat until you are satisifed with how the iron is working.

After descaling, run clean water through it with the same process (but no descaler) several times.

Rowenta commercial steamer

got this off the manual for the IS 7800

CLEANING
Remove water container and clean the main unit with a damp
cloth. To maintain maximum performance, your steamer must
be descaled occasionally. The descaling intervals will depend
on the water quality and the frequency of use. The unit should
be descaled at least once a year or every 100 hours of use.
For descaling proceed as follows:
1. Unplug the unit and remove water container from main unit
by releasing container lock and pulling up.
2. Fill it with fresh water and shake vigorously to remove any
scale. Pour out the water and repeat if necessary.
3. Purchase a quality decalcifier agent and follow the instructions
of the manufacturer for the proper ratio of the mixture
to water and use.
4. After filling the water container turn it up and down to
descale.
5. Attach reservoir to unit, plug in and switch on.
6. Let the appliance run until the water container is almost
empty and do not steam any clothing with this mixture.
7. Unplug and detach the water container. Rinse it with fresh
water.
8. Fill water container with fresh water and repeat steps 5 and 6.
Note: If after descaling you believe that there is still buildup in
the boiler, repeat steps 1-8.
