The microswitch for the Volvo S40 trunk lid is located inside the trunk lid panel. On the left side of the trunk lid panel, you should be able to locate the access panel for the microswitch. Remove the panel to access the switch. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch and remove the mounting screws to remove the microswitch. Install the replacement switch by tightening the mounting screws and reattaching the electrical connector. Test the switch to make sure it works correctly and then reinstall the access panel.

Hello I have a general electric dryer model DBSR463EG6WW serial number TR775112A and was wondering how do I bypass the start switch because it is broken

please there is no need to start your dryer without the switch. you can easily replace the switch yourself just follow this instructions below to replace your switch. things you will need are philip and hex and nut screwdrivers, putty knife and Replacement "start" switch. then Disconnect the dryer from the electrical outlet. Slide the dryer out from the wall and disconnect the dryer vent from the dryer's back panel.
    1. Loop a piece of string behind the "Start" button and pull forward on the string to pop the knob off the switch's post.

    2. Access the interior of the control panel. Depending on your model of dryer, there are several ways to access the interior of the control panel. On older dryers, there will be an access panel along the back of the control panel that can be removed once all of the retaining screws have been removed. On newer dryers, the control panel is held in place by screws in the front or spring clips. Remove the plastic end caps on the control panel and remove the screws underneath. If your dryer has no end caps, slide a putty knife under the corners of the control panel and lift up on the knife to release the clips. Rotate the control panel toward the rear of the dryer to access the interior.

    3. Unplug the wires from the switch by sliding them off the contact terminals on the switch. Make a note which wire connects to which terminal so you can easily connect them to the new switch.

    4. Press the release tab to unlock the switch and slide it out of its socket. If you have an older dryer, remove the retaining screw to remove the switch. Slide a new switch into the socket and press it down until the release tab locks into place. If you removed a retaining screw, replace the screw. Reconnect the wires.

    5. Rotate the control panel back down on the dryer or replace the rear access panel. Replace the knob and reconnect the dryer vent. Plug the dryer back into the electrical outlet.

How do I replace my ignition switch on my 1985 audi coupe gt?

Hi!!

The ignition switch is usually mounted to the steering column and is operated by a linkage rod.

NOTE
On column-mounted ignition switches, don't confuse the switch with the lock cylinder and keys. The ignition switch is not normally visible.
On some vehicles, the steering column support has to be removed and the column lowered to find the ignition switch. On others, the switch is accessible under the dash

The ignition switch is operated by the key switch.

To replace the switch:
  • Remove the ignition switch wiring harness.
  • Unbolt it from its position.
  • Bolt the new switch into position.
  • Attach the witing harness.
Don't forget to rate this post!! Good Luck!!

Whirlpool MOdel 110 23832100 Lid Switch is broken, need replacing

The following link explains step-by-step how to access the lid and replace it:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3557193-replacing_a_lid_switch

You do not necessarily have to disassemble the entire washer, but you DO need to release the clips that hold the washer casing to the back panel and frame so you can lift the case up enough to access the lid switch. The switch is mounted to the underside of the washer top panel. With the washer case installed, it can be difficult (if not impossible) to access the switch through the wash tub opening. The process is much easier than it sounds and will offer you the best access. Removing the washer case will also offer the quickest method of installation.

If you have not purchased a replacement switch, yet, you can purchase them from any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. the first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need. If you do not wish to order on line, this is a common part that any appliance parts retailer should carry as part of their in-store inventory. The part number for the model number you provided is 3949238.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

How do you replace a relay switch on a 1988 300 mercedes. it looks like there are two of them behind the battery and the fire wall

There are actually 3 behind the battery and the fire wall. 1- Fuel relay switch. 2- AC relay control switch. 3- OVP Over voltage protection relay switch. They all have labels. To replace, just pull them upward. To have an easy access, remove the ECM unit blocking access first, then put it back after you replace the relay switch.

Lid switch replacement

Some washing machines have the bolts that hold the top down situated behind the front panel but you have to remove the panel to gain access.
There may be 3-4 screws at the bottom of the front panel, remove the screws and the panel should come out.
Hope this has helped

Replace switch krups dual coffee / espresso 171

well, i figured it out just by poking around. there are three screws on the underside of the top part of the machine - by the espresso outlet. remove those; pop off the entire top of the machine, and you gain access to the switches. remove the wires from the paddles, push the switches out the front, take them to a repair shop for replacement, reverse the process, and you're done.

Replacing control valve/burner valve switch

This just started to happen to ours too. It's because you can't get let water get into the valve/switch assembly. Ours got so much water in there that it was making huge sparks and flames which charred up the switches. You may have to replace the whole 5-burner igniter switch assembly. I think it's part number 74010753. To access, remove 2 screws under the front of stovetop. open Top oven door to access. remove the 2 screws that hold the gas valve assembly. Remove 2 screws out of each burner assembly. Remove the green grounding wire on the right hand corner of stove top. The stove top will come off revealing the 5 white igniter switch assembly which is all wired together in parallel. Remove the large metal panel on the rear. There are two wires that are off the 5-burner switch assembly that you unplug. Replace this whole assembly and the problem should be fixed. Hope this helps
