SOURCE: fridge not cool, freezer fridge temp

The most likely fault is a problem with the defrost cycle. The most likely is the defrost heater which should be a solid bar which is located directly underneath the coil. If you are capable then you can generally unplug the connectors for the heater and check that you have a resistance across the ends if the heater is faulty it will be open circuit. If it is not open circuit then it could be the defrost sensor or defrost timer at fault. You can also generally tell if the heater is warped or cracked. Hope this is of some help.

SOURCE: suddenly tripped off house

Hi akula, 200 ks to a fridgie, LG appliance, you must be in Australia;) Is it the earth leakage circuit breaker operating. If so, then you have a leakage problem to earth from the heater pad(not quite sure what that is, but this problem will need to be repaired. Am doing some research to see if there is anything that can be done without just getting a new fridge. Back to you soon.

SOURCE: Fridge keeps tripping the circuit breaker

Your fridge should draw no more than 5amp. Presuming your breaker is at least 15amp there's a problem. Move to a different circuit first. If the condition persists check the start relay on the compressor. I have a suspicion the circuit may have another item you are not aware of.

SOURCE: Fridge keeps tripping the circuit breaker

get an inexpensive clamp amp meter (Harbor Freight has them). Turn off power to the plug. Remove plug from wall but do not disconnet wires. turn fridge OFF. plug the unit in the recept. turn on the power. set the meter for the higest reading (amps) & clamp it around the black wire. turn the fridge ON & observe start up current & the "run" current. If the fridge is within limits on the data plate the problem is in the wiring circuit, maybe a loose connection either @ the plug or the breaker. if there are several plugs in the circuit, the problem could be in one of them. In addition, if there is a gfi plug in this circuit, it could be faulty also.

Hi, I have a kic super kool fridge freezer. Everything in the fridge is freezing. Temp in the fridge is on 3. What can the problem be.

The refrigerator side has an independent thermostat and that can be damaged from a power surge, natural age, or defective internal components. If you can change it out yourself do it! If not; call the service center for assistance. Note: Failure to act could render the fridge usless and cause problems for the compressor down the road.

My kic fridge have 2 compartments. Freezer and fridge. only the fridge part dont work help please

The freezer is where the heat is removed from the box and cold air should circulate from the freezer into the refrigerator section. Something must be blocking the vent between the two. There is only one cooling unit; it cools the freezer and is also vented into the fridge for sub-freezing temperatures.

Hi I have a very old KIC fridge freezer the freezer is cold and works well the fridge is not icing up on the back board in the fridge everything going off in the fridge what could be causing this?

Its defrost problem, the freezer should cool, then freeze, then defrost cycle should start. In your case freezer is cooling, then freezing, but its not defrosting. That's why fridge section is not cooling.-------

I have a samsung side by side srs537nw. both side are not working properly. the fridge wont cool and the freezer turn into a fridge.

Had exactly the same problem. Found the cooling coils are not defrosting, everything was iced up inside the back panels. The drain was blocked, water pooling underneath also.

Remove all the plastic panels in the back of the freezer, including the temp. sensor (unplug) and fan (unplug). Defrost everything with a hair drier.

Make sure that the drain at the bottom is free, a small plastic tube which takes water down into a pan where it is evaporated by the compressor etc.

Replace the defrost sensor - the most likely faulty part. This costs about $Au 20.00 from Samsung (just ask for a defrost sensor for the model of fridge). This sensor fits in a plastic cage attached to the top of the cooling coils, has wires which plug into a socket. Reassemble the fridge and see if this has solved the problem.

If the fridge still does not defrost automatically, you may need to replace the circuit board ($Au 80.00 from Samsung). This board is found from the back of the fridge, in a plastic box behind a back panel at the bottom of the back of the fridge. Lots of wires to unplug!

There may be other problems, like a faulty thermostat on the valve which controls circulation of cold air into the fridge from the freezer, I have no experience of solving this.

Samsung mechanics are HOPELESS in my experience, replacing the two parts above will be less expensive than a call to them. Good luck!

Refrigerator wouldn't cool

Hi!!

Is there any light coming on on the board?? If not, ckeck for Tripped Breaker or blown fuse, if OK, check propane tank.

Take the grill under the fridge or to the left of it, (4 screws), that's where the refrigerator's power outlet is, check for 120v or use an extension cord and plug fridge to it. If fridge works, check for short or loose wire from outlet to breaker panel..

Don't forget to rate this post. Good Luck!!

Ge freezer works fine but the fridge wont cool.you

How to check everything
http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.
