Just replace main board, it seen all other buttons work on remote except the menu button, guess the remote is defective or main board ???
Is it the original Vizio remote? If it is, then the button is probably just defective. If it's a universal remote, you might need to try a different program code. If you have another Vizio TV, you could try using it's remote to see if the menu function works on the TV you're having trouble with.
Testimonial: "YES IT IS A ORIGINAL REMOTE.BRAND NEW FOR E70-E3 TV. TRIED ANOTHER REMOTE, THAT DID NOT WORK ALSO. HOPE IT JUST THE REMOTE & NOT THE MAIN BOARD, WILL ORDER ANOTHER,WILL LET U NO THE OUT COME, THANKS"

Just hold down the input button on the right side of the tv. This is the bottom one. So,
With the tv off,
press and hold the bottom button (input)
when the tv turns on, and you see the input menu
release and press the button to put the tv into a mode that works!
Thanks

You should verify if the remote has failed. Contact the support for Vizio, or ask your dealer where you can buy original replacement accessories.

Most of the time, we've seen the remote fail. Sometimes we are able to service the remote. Sometimes, the IR LED and or the crystal fails in the remotes. If it is more than this, it is impossible to have internal service parts for most remotes. It takes service experience to be able to change these parts.
On rare occasions the IR remote sensor and remote processor area in the set can have a failure. It is best to try another remote to verify this before sending the set for service.
The most common causes of failure of a remote controller is dropping, rough handling, getting food and drink inside, or putting the batteries in backwards.

Wow, I feel stupid! Solution #2 did it! There are 2 Tv buttons, one on the top right and one on bottom right. You have to press the bottom one!! THANK YOU PPL!!!
SOURCE: cable remote AND vizio tv remote will not turn on the tv
We will presume you do not have two bad remotes---the fact you can operate the set manually with the buttons there suggests a problem with the remote receiver====there is a tiny infrared receiver in the front of the set that receives the signals from the remote and sends them inside the set where the correct action is taken.
Make sure if you see it (usually small black area on frame of set) it is not blocked or dirty.
Failing that you may have a bad receiver for the remote---shop repair.
Turn it on while holding the menu button on the side at the same time and hold it
