My daewoo dwd-f1221 now seems to be taking 2.5 hours on cotton wash where it used to be 1.5 hours - why ?

I do not believe that is a 1E I think it's an IE error code which would be water inlet wiring or something like that. Here is the code list, scroll down until you find IE, Daewoo errors start at E2, hope this helps.

Does it spin if you turn to spin cycle?
Try this:
Jam lid switch with something plastic or wood.
Put on spin cycle.
Spin the tub by hand.

If the bowl then starts spinning properly, your problem is the motor starting capacitor.

I believe the EO code means the pump is blocked, and you will have to clear the pump for it to work again.

sounds like it slipped off it's mount, STOP USING IT. take the front cover off the machine, usually there will be 2 or 3 clips, use a flathead screwdriver to lift the clips while pulling the cover forward. Be careful not to damage the enamel. use pry bars or an auto scissorjack with some pieces of 2x4 tolift drum and set back on centre.
