It sounds like Multi-Link Screen is on. Which is good if you are viewing or switching 2 tv stations at the sane time. One with active audio, depending on the focus. Im not sure what you have on remote control but usually you would go to Menu > Picture > Scroll down to Options then you shall see Multi-Link mode. On my remote, i prese down the center navigation button twice to turn this On and Off. I will verify later when I get home.
Sound like you may have picture in a picture turned on.
It would be helpful to know make and model of television and a photo of exactly what you are seeing.

Go into your service menu and try to adjust the convergence, if it does not adjust, the IC's ( chips) are bad in that circuit. Call a local factory authorized dealer to service your tv. The cost should run around $450.00. Good luck.

Hey, found the problem. Your Convergence IC chip went bad. Buy one at Bluestar International Components (bluestar-online.com) - order part number STK392-010 for 6.99. I've read that there are two in the system and replacing them both at same time is a good idea...so, order 2. Now, if you are handy, it will require you to open the back of the TV and solder out the old chip and replace with new. If not, then you might as well call a TV repair person and have them fix. However, every place I've called works on a minimum fee for "large screen TVs" - the cheapest I could find in Atlanta was $399 minimum service fee. So, I'm going to risk the home sodering job .... it's a 10 year old TV and as good as it's been to me, if I screw it up, I feel I've gotten my money out of it. Good luck with your repair. It sounds like a convergence problem. A fairly common reason for thisproblem is the convergence chips have failed. They are usually referredto as "STK" chips since the model number of these chips start with STK.I will put a link to another part of this site where someone has postedpictures and a link where to get the parts should you decide to fix ityourself.
