Restarting did not work, and I noticed that my SSD (OCZ Trion 100 Series 480GB) was no longer listed as a boot option in my bios. (a very bad sign) I then loaded up PartedMagic and it could not detect the SSD. On PartedMagic, it just said unknown device under disk health and would not give any other information. I decided to reinstall windows on an old HDD to I could still use my computer. (using same sata port?) I had no issues doing this, until I decided to try and connect the original SSD next to the installed HDD. The bios would still not detect the old SSD and I made sure that the HDD was the only boot option - however, windows would not load. When booting, it would stay on the Asus press alt or delete to enter the bios screen for a suspiciously long time, and then got stuck in the windows boot screen. When I unplug the computer and removed the old SSD to try and boot with just the HDD again, it would load into windows quickly with no problems. Is it possible that I downloaded some sort of virus onto the SSD?
I think you need to check your data and power connections. If that is ok you probably have a failed sst drive.

we make sure no sata ports are turned off in bios. we look first.
we make sure the boot order is not with deleted items. (turn them all on, ok?)
we even have a dvd/br-d drive on port 2.
if that scans ok then move the bad sdd TO THE SATA PORT 2, SEE IF BIOS FINDS THIS ssD THERE.

most laptops have 2 or worse only 1.
so laptops make for lousy testing platforms'

on a laptop i can also do this,(if forced)
boot from linux,CD/dvd or from usb stick demo linux. (ubuntu v16up)ask
the put my drive under test in my usb to sata
adaptor box. then see if the ssd is ok.

You got a virus onto the SSD do not use again and for safety myself I would clean all out keep what files you need first then do a factory resit as it may still have some parts of a virus inside best be safe than sorry, had same myself long time ago, take care good luck.

If I understand what your problem is...
I had the same problem, it was a caused by bad Windows XP install CD.
Call Gateway and explain the situation, you may need to have a magnifying glass handy to read the tiny engraved lettering in the center of the CD disk.
Have your 'Product Key' available.
If you have some kind of sales receipt, or other "Proof of Purchase" have it handy too.
You will need to tell them, you do not have the program installed on other computers.
They can send you another disk.
This method will only work if you have a legal copy of the program.

There are a couple of possibilities.
1. The hard drive is defective.
2. The operating system is corrupt.
The easiest way to test this is to run the restore cd that came with the computer to reload Windows.
If you get this error while running the restore cd then you will need to get a new hard drive.

Open cpu cabinet and Refix RAM some times bootable files not load on ram properly so this error comes.
So refix RAM memory clean dust from circuit and RAM .
Also pull cmos cell from motherbord for 5 minutes so all settings are defaults then check.

hardware dead, (sure data or OS EASY)
but not Hardware.
A virus can not get to the SSD secret low level pages, if was true, endless dead SSD)
the Bios shows it's dead so in that case (and doomed if cables are ok, and sata port not dead)
never expect higher levels to see the disk
windnows. (if BIOS fails) nor
partition tools no.
diskmanager windows, no.
even classic, crystalinfodisk (free) tests will show the drive dead.
if you booted to a linux demo usb stick the SSD missing.
that is because it is.
my guess was hotwapped and blown up.(easy)
BIOS is the most lowest level of testing
if the BIOS PCI scans show this SSD missing on 2 modern PCs he SSD is blown out.
the maker of the disk may have special boot disk tools that can go deeper, did you ask them>OCZ ?
