Runs for 10 min and stalls.

check your vent hole on fuel cap,or just loosing the gas cap so it can get air if this helps than you know it is the vent.

Mower start fine. Runs for 20 min or so and then runs ruff and shuts down. Restarts fine and shuts down appr. 5 mins later. Has new spark plug, air filter, fuel filter and more than enough gas.

It's one of two things. My first thought is that you have a clogged gas cap. Try loosening it when the mower starts to run ruff. If it smooths out again and runs fine, then you know that the carburetor is not venting properly. Either buy a new gas cap or clear the breathing holes in the cap, if possible.

The only other thing it can be is that your Ignition Coil is going bad. A bad Coil, once it gets hot, will shut down. But it usually takes longer than 5 minutes for them to cool down well enough to start back up.

My Vote is the cap!

Good Luck!

My mower will run for about 30 minutes then die and then have to wait for awhile and process starts all over. i have changed oil, spark plug, plug wire and coil, fuel filter, air filter and screen,...

Try this.
When the mower is about to die, loosen the gas cap.
My mower gas cap vent holes plugged up and kept stalling the mower.
If it works, drill out the vent holes.

My John Deere stx46 riding mower acts like it becomes starved for gas after using for hour or so. Fuel filter is new, gas line new, coil pack new. Ran fine last year. Filter will be emtpy when dies, then...

Try loosening the gas cap a little...... there is a normally a small breather hole in the top or underside just above the seal which allows a small amount of air to enter into the fuel tank. Sometimes this breather hole gets clogged..... stopping air from entering into the fuel tank as fuel is used. Eventualy enough vacume pressure accumulates inside he tank causing a vapor lock. If you loosen your fuel cap slightly.... this should prevent the problem your experiencing. If it does... try soaking cap in deisel fuel or heating oil overnight, remove and allow to dry prior to re-installing. If the problem persists after a good soak, only option is to replace fuel cap. GOOD LUCK!

Starts runs then dies. will start again in 20 min,

Simple thing is to check the filters..air & fuel. Good chances is if it is not in the carburetor then its the coil. www.nnyparts.com

Stalls after 20 mins. of running fine. (Starving for gas)

From the rear of machine look at the top left of fuel tank for the fuel line.Where line comes out of tank see if it is pinched where it goes down between frame and tank, grab line and see if it moves freely. If that is OK loosen fuel cap after 10 minutes of run time to see if your vent hole in cap is working. These are 2 common problems for the L series mowers.
