SOURCE: How to save games?
Successfully complete the game to get the option to save your game anywhere. When you start a new game, the "Save" option will be available under your menu in the map screen.

Will your game disc play on your neighbor's console? If it does not, then you might have a bad disc. Take your receipt and the game back to the store, they will exchange a game for the same title, with receipt.
Thanks for using the FixYa forums!

The reason for this is that the "eye" in your Wii to read the disc is too dusty to read the disc, as it is a 2 layered disc. Call up Nintendo and ask them for help, they will tell you what to do and they will clean out your Wii for free.
