The Iver Johnson Cadet was offered as (the basic gun) as the Model 55 Target, and the 55A then the 55S Cadet and the 55S-A Cadet. Why don't you take it to a gunsmith? Unless you know what you are doing you could be missing some parts or put them in wrong and create a safety issue. It is well worth the money to have it checked out by a pro - and they can tell you if it is safe to shoot.
