FDirstly, you should not connect your TV to a Sound System. If you desire to listen to your Broadcast TV , and enhance the listening experience,I suggest you use the Audio L & R outputs of your Cable Box to your Sound System AUX IN , and Video Out to the TV's Video IN socket. Then you will recieve a better picture and a enhanced sound quality. But just directly connecting the TV's Audio Out to the Sound System will make scarcely any difference.

This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.
If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.

Hello There,
This problem sounds like a Connection issue, it all come's down to what wires you are using and where you have them plugged into .
if using AV cables make sure you have the Red,White plugged into the same group as the yellow cable .
If using the Component Cables these are Red,Blue,Green they are Video only and you need to use a Red and White wire with them to get Audio so a total of 5 wires for this setup.
If you are using HDMI you should have both Video and Audio if you do not we may have a bigger problem on are hands and let me know and ill go over some more steps for you thank you and don't forget to Rate
