SOURCE: Stop the junk mail!!

You can go to the government's Do Not Call web site and register that fax' number. It will not necesarily stop all junk mail, but most of it will stop, and you can then report any callers who continue to send junk mail to that phone line.

How to delete Junk mail without going to each one

1.Create folders within your email program to store your emails. Make the folders appropriate for storing the emails you receive. For example, if you regularly receive emails from certain people, make a folder to store emails from each person. Make folders to store professional emails and personal emails, and make subfolders within each to further categorize and sort your emails.

2.Set your message rules to route your emails to your specific folders. Many email programs have different levels of junk email filtering. Choose a low or high setting based on the volume of junk mail you receive. Once you have created message rules and junk email filtering, the junk email will be easily noticed when it arrives in your main inbox. Your email program will also attempt to recognize junk mail and will send it to junk and spam folders.

3.Take a few moments each day to browse through your email folders to review the emails you receive. Important emails sometimes get routed to the wrong folders, and they can go unnoticed if you do not check your email folders regularly.

4.Open your spam or junk mail folder and make sure these folders do not contain any emails you wish to keep. If there are emails that are not junk, drag them to the inbox or another folder for storage. Depending on your email program, you also may highlight the email and find a "Not Junk" option to alert your program that this email does not belong in the spam folder. Once you are sure the folders contain only junk mail, highlight one email folder. Press "Control-A" to highlight all of the emails in the folder. After highlighting these emails, press the shift key at the same time that you press the "Delete" button. This will delete all of the emails without sending them to the deleted folder.

5.Manage your junk email filter by opening the "Options" in your email program. From here you can add "Safe Senders" or "Blocked Senders" to either list.

Am not receiving some e-mails from known sources who confirm byphone that they are sending them . This for about ten days .Can you please advise?. Thanks Pete Squibb

This reply is based upon my own experience.

First, I suggest you check your junk mail box. Sometimes, stuff ends up there for one reason or another...or no reason at all.

If that doesn't shed any light, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and advise them of the problem, giving dates and email address(es) of the incoming mail. Sometimes, ISPs don't get along with each other and one will send mail originating from another ISP into the junk or blocked mail box. Should that be the case, tell your ISP in no uncertain terms, that you are paying for this service and that you want the email to be received.

It could also be a case of your ISP setting its spam filters too high, in which case you can ask that they be backed off a notch.

Finally, be absolutely certain that your correspondents do, in fact, have your correct email address. Actually, that should be the first thing you do.

My freinds don't receive my email

It's possible that their e-mail service is automatically putting your e-mail into a "Junk Mail" folder because of your yahoo.com e-mail address. Have them check for your e-mail in this, or similarly named folder.

Another way to help ensure delivery is for them to add your e-mail address to their Address Book. Many e-mail services treat this as a "White List" meaning any e-mail received from an e-mail address found in the recipient's Address Book is a known "good" e-mail and is not spam / junk e-mail.

Finally, check to make sure you have your friends' correct email addresses.

The next time you try to send an e-mail, cc yourself using your own e-mail address. This way, you will know if your e-mail was properly sent and the problem is somewhere on the recipient's end.

Receiving thousands of emails as ''undeliverable'' ''postmaster''

Unfortunately, Yahoo does not have the option to only receive emails from people in your contacts or address book. The more websites you click on, the more "cookies" will be placed in your browser by ad trackers, and the more "spam" or junk mail you will receive. Try going into your internet options and disabling third party cookies, or you could open a hotmail (MSN) account where you have the option of only receiving emails from those people in your address book.

Digital sending

This accurs at our location from time to time. Due to the use of GroupWise e-mail; on some mailboxes settings or some messages were added to Junk mail or Blocked mail settings... Receipient actually did receive but settings in Junk Mail or Blocked mail deleted the e-mail before it was received. This only has to be something simular to subject sent by Digital Sender.
Solution: have receipient empty all Junk mail settings.
