Microphone not working

Hi, I purshesed a philips ph62080 microphone to use on my pc karaoke, the problems is that my pc will not recognize it,(i have reviewed that the mute box is not checked on the volume controls). On the hardware test it won't reflect any sound and if I go to recording controls on the advanced button the bass and trebble options are in grey, also if I check the microphone amplification box it will make a loud noise. What do I need to do to get the mic working correctly?

SOURCE: No Sound Coming out my Microphone

This same thing happened to me. All I did was plug the mic into my keyboard, turned the mic volume to max, and turned the mic on. Then, I grabbed the part of the mic where the cord goes in, and started turning it. I turned it left and started hearing noise come out of the mic. I kept on doing this, until sound came out of the mic. I did this, and now the mic works again. Hope this helps!

Do I need to insert a battery for this microphone? If so, what size & how? Thanks

This particular microphone is a dynamic one, so no power supply from batteries (or phantom power) is needed.

I can't figure out where to plug it in

Any sound system that has a mic in will accept this microphone although you may need a 3.5 to 2.5 or 3.5 to 1/4" stereo adaptor depending on the equipment your plugging the microphone into.

Karaoke not working

Hi, got this info from philips customer service. Was desperately trying to get the karaoke function to work for 2 weeks! Plug in your microphone. Press "KARAOKE" button until you see "MIC OFF" text, and immediately press RIGHT button. It will now shows "MIC ON"! "ECHO", "KEY" options will now shows up when pressing "KARAOKE" button repeatedly. However, microphone sound will not be available on digital output, you'll have to use the audio RCA. Happy singing!

Phillips microphone plugged into stereo input and cannot get it to work

The stereo input is not sensitive enough to amplify the small electrical current coming out of a microphone. You need either a mixer or a pre amp to do that.

No Sound Coming out my Microphone

i know this might sound a little obvious and maybe irrelevant to the problem, but did you press the switch on the mic? it will turn the mic on and off. make sure sound and mic are unmuted in windows volume control. if both are these didnt solve the problem, test the mic on another computer. if the mic works, maybe its not the mic that has the problem. if the mic doesnt work, then your mic may be defective or damaged in some way or other.
