SOURCE: panasonic kx-tg2740 cordless phone - how to change message?

  • Step 1Begin the recording process by first locating the "Change" button on your answering machine. This button initializes the answering machine for adjustments to the settings of the various features.
  • Step 2:Locate the microphone on your answering machine and lean towards it until you are about nine inches away.
  • Step 3:Locate the "Annc" button. Press and hold the "Annc" button until it beeps. Begin recording your message.
  • Step 4:Watch the message window while you are recording your message. It keeps track of how much time has elapsed since you began recording. You can record a message that is up to three minutes long.
  • Step 5:Locate the "Stop" button and press it when you have finished recording your message. The answering machine will play your message back at this point. If you are not satisfied with your message, repeat the steps to record it again.
  • Step 6:Press "Annc" if you want to listen to your message again.

SOURCE: the line 2 ringer is off (it displayes message

Here is a link to your manual. You do not have to sign up for anything and there is no junk after.Click download, then enter the 5 digit code and press download again. It will open a menu.If you want to save it permananetly click save.It will most likely save to your documents folder. For 1 time use click run.You may want to save this site for future reference also.It is excellent and has a wide variety of electronics. There is mention of turning off the ringer on page 23.At the end of the manual on page 59,it mentions for a problem with BOTH ringers not working to refer to pages 23,and/or 38.Page 23 does mention the ringer volume is separate for both I believe, that may be all.Try it out and if that doesn't work try as follows.I don't have a Panasonic, but most phones have the settings available by pressing the menu button, while the phone is off,no dial tone.Pick it up and press menu.Listen in the earpiece and you should hear the menu open.To cycle through the options, obviously it will start at the top so press the directional pad down. When you get to what you want, press right once.To set the ringer, one press right should turn it on,another press right should turn it off again. For other menu options such as setting the answer machine rings before it answers, press right and it should cycle throughall of it's options and repeat after no more are available. When you have all of your options set up,I believe just turning it off will be okay. When you are setting the ringer,it should prompt you to set a certain button to save what you have set.Different manufacturers have different ways, but the basic principles of programs are usually somewhat similar. If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.I really encourage responses so I can follow up properly as I know where you stand and asking someone else restarts all the explaining because we cannot see other 'Expert's' responses.Good luck,Greg
Just my kind of luck too.The manual has how to set up everything EXCEPT 1 unit's ringer. The manual says colume, ring tone and everything but.If this does not get your issue solved, please let me know.

2 LINES PICK UP ON PANASONIC KX-TG4500

Sounds like you have the cords into the back of the phone mixed up. If you have a cord with 1 and 2 plugged into 1/2, great. But then if you have another jack also with 1 and 2, but plug it into 3/4, now you answer line 3 on second phone and line 1 lights up on first phone. Or line rings line 1 here and line 3 over ther. Gotta keep that straight and the jacks have to have identical lines.

CANNOT TRANSFER FROM LINE 4

It sounds like you need to have your vendor come out and program your phone system to ring on line 4 for whatever phones you think you need access.

as for the hold...seems as if you are choosing the individual hold on the phone and not the system hold. Therefore you can only pick up from the original phone.

Answering system

It first sounds as if the handset isn't charged properly. Check the battery status first. The manufacture advises to charge the system for approx. 7 hours before any use occurs. Second, make sure that the registration took, when programming the phone originally. I would de-register the handset by: 1 {MENU} i {0}{0}{2} 2 {3}{3}{5} i {OK} 3 Select the handset you want to cancel by pressing the desired handset number ({1} ? {4}). Then re-register by: 1 Handset: {MENU} i {0}{0}{1} 2 Base unit: KX-TG6021/KX-TG6022/ KX-TG6023 Press and hold {LOCATOR} until the IN USE indicator flashes. KX-TG6051/KX-TG6052/ KX-TG6053/KX-TG6054 Press and hold {LOCATOR/ INTERCOM} until the IN USE indicator flashes. LAfter the IN USE indicator starts flashing, the rest of the procedure must be completed within 1 minute. 3 Handset: Press {OK}, then wait until a beep sounds. 4 {OFF} Third, make sure that the display on the handset does not show "SP-Phone" in the display, if it does press the phone icon button. Fourth, Do you currently have voicemail from your phone service provider? If so, the answering machine will not answer. Make sure that the answering machine portion is turned on. Do this by: Press {ANSWER ON} to turn on/off the answering system. When the answering system is turned on, the ANSWER ON indicator lights. When the answering system is turned off, the ANSWER ON indicator turns off. If there are any further questions or comments, please post here. Please rate this solution through fix-it. Thank you
