SOURCE: I have the F2 error

It would help for me to know your model number, but I'll tell you what I know generally.

Often the metal cover is held in place on the plastic control panel frame by several bent metal tabs which are visible from the rear side of the plastic frame.

You may have to remove your circuit board from the frame to see them and bend them straight so the metal cover can be removed.

The drawing below should clarify this.

Need to install membrane switch model number smh9151s

This is actually a simple DIY job. The service manual is at my site here.

You simply move your circuit board into a new control panel frame assembly, which comes with a new keypad already attached.
For model SMH9151S, it is part number DE94-01806K ("Assy Control PANEL") and you can order it from the Pros here for about $42.

If it is not in stock when you order, they can have it to you in just a few days.

You can also find helpful exploded view diagrams and order other parts via that link.

There's a video here showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. If you have trouble, slide the hood vent grille to the left about 1/4", then then pull it forward. Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move your circuit board into the new frame. Be careful, since the display is made of glass.

Some connectors on the relays have a lock:

Samsung microwave SMH9151W displays code -SE-

"SE" means you have a defective membrane keypad. There are two ways to fix this:

1. Replace the membrane keypad. If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, there is a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved. It is part number DE34-00304G.

2. Replace the control panel frame assembly (part number DE94-01806J) which comes with a new keypad already installed. Details are below.

There is a a YouTube video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then simply move your circuit board into the new frame.
You should first contact these parts suppliers to see which if either parts are in stock or still actually available:

Sears Parts Direct
Encompass parts (or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835)
The Pros here

Again the parts are:

DE34-00304G membrane keypad switch
DE94-01806J control panel assembly

SE error on Samsung SMH9151B. Where so I find the assembly part to order?

"SE" error means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

The full model number from the tag on the oven should be one of these:

SMH9151B/XAA (service manual)
SMH9151B/XAC (service manual)
SMH9151BE/XAA (service manual)

I've included the service manual link for each one for your convenience. They'll help you with disassembly and in getting part numbers.

You can order parts by entering part numbers or your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

There are three ways you can fix this, with the last probably being the best:

1. Replace the membrane keypad ("switch membrane"). The cheapest way but the hardest. If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved. It's here.

2. Replace the control panel frame assembly ("assy control panel"), which comes with a new keypad on it already. Pretty easy, not expensive.

3. Replace the entire controller ("assy control box"). Very easy, and usually not much more than option 2.

No matter which option you prefer, at our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

My microwave is flashing 5E , What does this mean?

"SE" error means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

On some Samsung models, the most economical solution is to order a new control box assembly and replace it.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

On other models, you have to replace the membrane keypad.

We have
a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved if you have to go that route.

But it all depends on the model number.

If you don't get answers by looking up your model here, then please repost a new help request her to FixYa and include your full model number from the tag in or on the unit and your full symptoms.

I have samsung microwave model number ME 1240SC. my front panel touch screen is not working properly, when i press the keys it is not working. so i think i need to replace the touch screen. so please...

That model does not user a touch screen, it actually uses a standard membrane keypad.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then try it again.

If it's still not responding, I would suspect your membrane keypad has failed.

Is it possible that some spray cleaner accidentally got into the controls?

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that you spray non-ammonia cleaner on a soft cloth (not a paper towel which can scratch) and gently wipe the keypad.

And I always recommend that you use the vent fan whenever you're cooking on the stove top to keep heat, steam, and grease out of the controls and door panels.

If it does not dry out over time, it may need to be manually dried or blown out.

The keypad may be damaged or worn out, or control unit may be damaged.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

If you wanted to order a new membrane switch / keypad, the part number is DE34-00145F and you can order it from the Pros here. They're our favorite supplier.

Otherwise, this is a pretty standard 1200W microwave, and you may find it better to simply replace it instead of repairing it.

My microwave start button doesn't push in to start my microwave

The keypad is a thin plastic membrane type that is glued to the plastic control panel frame.

It's most likely that the keypad is worn out or possibly you have a flaky door switch.

We have full details, critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as door switch testing info) at our site. You'll find a link to our site in our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually order Samsung parts (either the keypad / membrane switch or control panel with keypad) from http://www.samsungparts.com but that model number is not showing up, so you may have to call or e-mail them through their site.
