When I go to download apps it says I need to register an account. I tried using my google account and it says that google is not responding, so I tried to create a new account and it just says the email address or user name is not available and I can't go any farther.
You have 2 separate issues here. For the issue of connecting to the Google Play store to setup your device, you should have received an error code or message. I need than and I can assist further.
For the issue of creating another Google account, if the email address you want to create was already used by another Google user, you won't be allowed to create it again. Add another couple of characters at the end of the name and try again (ie: instead of [email protected] create [email protected].

I know this is old but had the same problem. I contacted support and when you go into the Internet@TV menu there should be a red A at the bottom that says Login. Hit A on your remote to login and then you can access Facebook. The rep I live chatted with didn't tell me this step but the rep I called informed me of it. I didn't even see that option when I was trying to figure it out myself.

hmmm that is one for the support folks at your email server company. Will require intervention on their end to correct due to security issues
sad to say but it's the new double opt in security most email services use these days
didn't know that SSN was being used for this.

Hi, if the google play store is installed in your device that is the best way to install play store apps. Installing apps from a browser such as Opera Mini is not recommended. If you don't have the google play store app, you can follow these steps to download and install it:
1) Enable the checkbox at Settings -> Security -> Unknown Sources, don't worry about any warnings unless you are not sure about the safety of something you are installing.
2) Open a browser on the device you need to install Play Store on and go to this link: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/, you will have to wait 10 seconds before the Download button works
3) Download the latest version unless you have an older android device, and use any file manager to install the file by simply opening it and following the instructions, disregard any warnings. It should be in the .apk format.
**Note: If you have an Android OS before 2.3, you will need to choose an older version and check to make sure it's compatible. For 2.2 refer to this link: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-3-7-11-android-apk-download/
4) Simply open the Play Store and follow onscreen instructions to login and start installing those apps!
