Depends on what you have to do get water to shut off. If cutting off at faucet is only way, then replace valve.

After removing the power (easist was to shut breaker off), then replaced fuse just inside upper front left cover area by way of 2 white screws on bottom front panel. Clips secure the top into the horizontial lid panel (which you will also have to remove later if fuse keeps blowing) That worked for a coupe weeks as long as the Cycle Selector dial was always pushed in when you opened/closed the washer lid. Then the the problem returned. Only way out was to partially remove the unit from the wall and remove the lid assembly, which was much easier than first thought. Pictures attached. Tools needed are Phillips screwdriver and Nut drivers to remove the horizontial lid/panel from above the washer tub, and below the timer panel/dryer. Didn't need to remove the angled cover below dryer as Washer Door lid assembly is wholly below. Just push the dryer toward the rear, then remove two larger nuts from top left and top right corners. No nuts at rear, just clips that slide in/out. This allows lid cover to be pulled straight out (I had to remove the overflow tube on front right of tub, and one semi-rusted nut-driven screw from the Hot/Cold filler plate which is at the rear of the lid cover. That will make it easier to manipulate the cover and release the 4-pin plastic connector shown in pictures at the left rear corner. Then the entire cover/lid slides out easily as you may have to push the dryer top back to ease it out. Then flip it over and replace the switch and slide the 4 wire connector back under the plastic trip. and reverse the un-install. 4-pin connector is flat-keyed on one side, but it is tight to get to. My OEM part even included a new fuse (19.95 + shipping) Unit is now working fine for last 2 weeks.b88b41c.jpg8de8e68.jpg798b349.jpg49eb6d1.jpg6f06d50.jpg48c84c4.jpg

I had the same problem, take the easy rout first and check for obstructions in your venting. Mine was clogged and it shut itself down (to protect itself?)

SOURCE: Kenmore washer overflows during rinse cycle.

SOME OF THESE MACHINES HAVE TWO PRESSURE SWITCHES IN THEM, ONE FOR THE MAIN WASH WATER LEVEL AND ONE FOR THE RINSE WATER LEVEL. CHECK FOR A PLUGGED AIR PRESSURE HOSE FIRST AND THEN CHECK THE PRESSURE SWITCHES.

SOURCE: Washer won't agitate, drain or spin

Hi Xinia_s

The lid switch needs to be replaced. although it seems to be working for the water intake valves it will not work for the motor. it is not the fuse. the main fuse sits right above the motor's start capacitor in the lower left side of the lower cabinet; had it been the fuse it would'nt even fill w/ water. have the lid switch replaced and it should do the trick.

first access the tech sheet and run any diagnostics it shows for the machine and if this passes, then check/change the fill switch on the control panel along with fill tube from the wash tub base if kinked or plugged

Maytag washer LSE7806ACE won't run in any cycle. Dryer works normally.

If the washer works with the water temperature set to warm or other setting different from what you normally use, something is wrong with the water fill solenoid valve for your usual setting (warm turns on both valves). A stuck or clogged valve would probably buzz, but a burned-out valve solenoid would be silent. The timer is waiting for a signal from the water level sensor switch, so if no water is coming in, it'll wait all day.

If that isn't it, check the terminals on the wires going to the lid switch for corrosion. Next, check the power switch (operated by pulling the knob out) at the controller/timer unit. (I assume that since you replaced the lid switch you know to unplug the machine before digging into it.) You'll want an ohmmeter to test continuity and contact resistance, or at least a continuity tester. Also check the power wiring where it goes between the washer and dryer sections.

ON the side of the outer tub unit there is a small plastic/rubber hose that goes up to the level switch behind the panel. This sometime fills with water or blocks or is cracked and leaks out air. The purpose of this tube is to hold a pressure in it which increases as the water flows into the tub. This increase in pressure works against a spring tension which you adjust by selection the desired water level. As the water rises the air trapped in the tube reaches a point where the pressure overcomes the setting and allows the switch to turn off the water and move the machine on to the next cycle. Now if all that is working and the machine starts agitating and the water is still coming in then the fault will be in the water inlet solenoid valve . It will have a cracked diaphragm or dirt and will have to be replaced Probably why the machine works when you bash it.

open and close the lid,if you don't hear a clicking sound you just have a bad lid switch, you have an older machine and it has a cherry switch in it,go here and look at part number 5

part number 208823,all it is is a safety so the washer can't run with the lid open so it will fill and then stop because the switch is bad.

Water will not turn off

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Water Inlet Valve If the washer is overflowing and power is shut off to the washer, the water inlet valve has failed. Replace it.
Pressure Switch If the washer is overflowing the pressure switch might be defective. The pressure switch is attached to a small tube which is attached to the outer wash tub. As the water level rises the air pressure in the tube increases, once the set water level is reached the pressure switch turns off power to the water inlet valve. Check to be sure the air tube to the pressure switch is clear before replacing the switch.

Low Water Pressure from House Supply If the washer is overflowing the water pressure to the water inlet valve might be too low. The water inlet valve requires a minimum of 20 psi to shut off properly. If the pressure is lower, the valve may not close fully when the power is shut off. This results in the valve leaking water into the washer and causing it to overflow.

Awhile back I had FixYa help me with my washer. It would fill up with water and then just stop. It turned out to be the lid switch. Now about a month or so later I went to wash a load of clothes and again...

Hi.

If the lid switch is OK and there is water getting into the machine, then test and replace the pressure switch that detects water level.
Here the part:SUB 12002304 (Water Level Switch Kit)

Part is nr 6 in this diagram.

Also test the inlet valve to ensure that dual inlet is working. If hot is not filling, the machine will not complete filling.
A technician can swap valve contacts to find out if
both valves are opening.

If there is no filling at all, check the inlet valve and inlet duct:Water Inlet Valve.
Inlet valve is at the back of the appliance. It can be tested reading Ohms at terminals.

Washer won't agitate, drain or spin

it only has one block fuse and should be located somewhere close to where the power cord comes into the washer. Go here www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-LSE7806A-%3d%3di435797&PartID=435797 this is what you need to check.

quite possible that the fuse has gone bad again, if that s the case i would recommend replacing the fuse, and the lid switch.
