It is out there, that if you have internet enabled on the Toshiba BD player, did you need to stop or disable the internet capability.
How do you disable the internet on a Toshiba bd player?
Stonewall, that is not what the user asked. That's the exact opposite. You should go into "setup" and have an option to disable the internet. My player does not recognize BRD's even if updated, so that is not the solution. Neither was disabling internet. I figure it's a faulty DVD/BR programming or optical lenses. Nothing makes BRD's get recognized as being in the player, when DVD's of all kinds DO WORK.

You will need the following:
1) Internet connection
2) Wired router
3) long enough ethernet cable to reach from your blue ray player to the router.
Step 1:
Eject any disks and turn off the blu-ray player by unplugging it.
Step 2:
Attach the ethernet cable to the router and the other end to the ethernet port on the back of the blu-ray player.
Step 3:
Turn on the blu-ray player and wait for it to load all the way.
Step 4:
Using the remote, arrow over to the left to "Setup", the up to "Network Update".
Step 5:
After the unit updates and restarts, repeat until it tells you "Already Updated".
That should help you play the newer movies, and even some of the older ones.

Have you updated the firmware on it? I had a similar problem with a Sony blu-ray player and I had to download an update and burn it on to a CD then allow the CD to update the blu-ray player. What's the model number of your player, I may be able to get a link to the update for you.
