How do i put screw back on handle of toaster oven model no. TSSTTVVFG01???

  • Brian Lee Jan 20, 2019

    Hi Wayne Caplan, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? A photo would be helpful as to whether the screw is pointing into the door from the outside or out of the door from the inside.

SOURCE: kitchenaid model KHHS179LSS Microwave oven handle replacement

There is a pin holding the door on upper right hand corner of the door. Holding the door in the open position, lift up on the door a little and remove the pin. The door will come off. There are two screws on the edges of the door on the end where the handle is located. Remove the screws. Now, Take a slim screw driver, and carefully pry between the inside door panel and the ourside door panel starting at the end where the door handle is. Lift the inside of the door out. The opposite end of the inside door panel will come out last. Believe me, this works. Getting it back together is a little bit different, but it snaps back together without using tools. Just put the inside of the door back by laying it down with the handle side down after you have replaced the handle of course. Now, pushing in on the inside of the door panel starting on the handle side, start with lining up the panel and push gently. It will go back into place much much easier than it comes out.

I tried to locate the manual with google, but unfortunately had no success. You could ask some specialized manual search engines, like here or here. The services are not for free, but most times worthy - saved my live more than once.

I have an older model toastmaster toaster oven/broiler. The only model # is 391 which does not seem to exist anymore. The handle has broken and I would like to replace it. Can u help?

Sounds like your model has been discontinued.
A broken handle suggests heavy usage and rest of it is probably ready to fail. Recommend buy a new unit.

How do I disassemble a Toastmaster Toaster Oven model 340B to access the controls/wiring/switches section?

You can't. The lawyers think it is too risky for consumers to attempt repairs. Even those who are competent to do so.

Replace door handle

Not enough info to help you. However, if the door can be separated into two pieces fitted together, you will see the screws holding the handle.
Otherwise, you have not asked a question.

How to remove the cover on an oster toaster TSSTRTS2S2-033

re: Oster TSSTRTS2S2-033 disassembly

Hi, I just took one apart to fix a cold solder joint, so here's my take on disassembly.

The brushed aluminum cover comes off by removing nine screws on the bottom, then manipulating seven tabs and removing the main handle on the plunger.

First, remove the main handle. It has a small plastic locking tab underneath and the tab may break because it hooks onto a metal spike in the toaster and this seems intended to be permanent. I broke it because I just pulled the handle straight off, but I'm not worried because the handle will still go back on reasonably tight; it just won't lock. However, if you want to try to remove it without breaking the plastic locking tab, I would try sticking a thin screwdriver under the bottom of the handle to disengage the plastic tab from the spike.

Next, remove nine of eleven screws on the bottom. Don't remove the two screws directly below the cord switch on the side - it should be obvious which two screws stay on. And take the crumb tray out too.

Next, there are three metal tabs on the bottom that need to be bent. Two of the tabs were held by the removed screws at the back of the toaster. Just bend those two out of the way away from the plastic bottom. The third tab is located in a hole directly between those other two tabs. Take a pair of needle nose pliers and twist the tab so it will unlock and allow the tab to slide through the slot in the plastic toaster bottom.

The four remaining tabs are located on the top of the toaster just inside the main toast slots. The top metal cover folds into the toast slots and forms metal tabs at each end of each toast slot. They unhook relatively easily by sliding the top cover tabs about 1mm towards the centre of the toaster - there's no bending of metal required.

At that point, it takes some playing around to actually remove the cover. Start by working it straight upwards, then lift it off at the back of the toaster first, before the front because there's a cable at the front of the toaster that prevents the top cover from lifting completely off straight up and, as well, the metal plunger arm that holds the handle will be the last thing to unhook. The plunger arm and the cord retraction mechanisms do get in the way, but it is possible to do it without forcing anything.

Note that after the metal cover is unfastened and pulled off, it is still attached to the toaster mechanism by a short internal electronics cable which connects the toaster to the front buttons in the cover. The front buttons and display remain attached inside the cover. At this point, the toaster should still function normally despite it having the cover off.

I hope that helps.

Need to tighten screws holding handle. How do I do this?

We were able to tighten them down. We:
unscrewed the handle entirely;
removed the little black rubber/plastic screw covers (you won't be able to use these with this fix);
held the handle stationary in one hand;
used needle-nosed pliers to turn the screw into the handle;
then switched out the pliers for some small tweezers as the handle got close to the dooor, and turned the screw with the tweezers.

Note that the left-hand side of the handle is reverse threaded. So, you will turn the screw clockwise to screw in on the left; and counter-clockwise to screw in on the right.
