When portable ice makers stop working the first thing that I do to troubleshoot the problem is clean the ice maker. It's amazing how many units start working again just because there is hard water residue on the sensors. Take some warm water and a little bit of vinegar and run it throw the ice cycle. After this make sure that you rinse it really good to make sure there is no vinegar remaining in the unit. Then give it a try.

Why is my ice machine so loud
The ice bucket is probably cracked we have had three that have all done the exact same thing all different name brands. Just order a new ice bucket. Good Luck and my advice is to purchase a extended warranty on these because its not a matter of if it will break its when. Edgestar lasted the longest it lasted 1yr and 7months.
