  1. Before you do anything else, turn the printer off and on by following these steps:
    1. Turn off the printer by pressing the Power button.
    2. If the optional HP Photosmart Internal Battery is not installed in the printer, unplug the printer power cord. Wait about 10 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
    3. If the optional HP Photosmart Internal Battery is installed in the printer, unplug the printer power cord, if it is plugged in. Open the battery compartment cover and remove the battery. Wait about 10 seconds, then reinstall the battery. If desired, plug in the power cord.
    4. Turn on the printer. The printer checks for paper in the paper path and will automatically eject the jammed paper. Press OK to continue.
If the error still occurs, go on to the next step.
  2. If the paper came part way through the front of the printer, gently pull the paper towards you to remove it.
  3. If the paper did not come part way through the front of the printer, try removing it from the back of the printer:
    1. Remove the paper from the In tray, then push in the catches to release the in tray. Figure 1: In tray catches paper jams using nextech premium photo pape gloss - c00256377.jpg
    2. Open the In tray to a horizontal position.
    3. Gently pull the jammed paper to remove it from the back of the printer.
    4. Before you lift the In tray to close it, make sure it is pushed all the way to the right on its hinges. Figure 2: Pushing the tray to the right before closinpaper jams using nextech premium photo pape gloss - c00256378.jpgc="/uploads/images/c00256378.jpg" alt="c00256378.jpg" class="h_mi" />
    5. Lift the In tray up until it snaps back into paper-loading position.
  4. Open and close the pen door on the front of the printer to make sure it is securely latcpaper jams using nextech premium photo pape gloss - c00269435.gifgure 3: Opening and closing the pen door c00269435.gif
How to avoid paper jams
  • Make sure that the cartridge door on the front of the printer is securely closed.
  • If you experience paper jams while printing, try loading one sheet of photo paper at a time. Insert the paper as far as it will go into the In tray.
  • Do not add paper while the unit is printing.
  • Do not use paper that is too thin, too slick, or that stretches.
  • Do not use torn or creased paper. Paper that has been printed previously may cause jams.

Paper not feeding for epson nx400

Check the following:

  • If paper doesn't feed, remove it from the sheet feeder. Reload it against the right side, behind the tab, then press in the tab on the edge guide and slide it against the paper. Make sure the paper is not above the arrow mark inside the edge guide.

  • If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

  • If the paper doesn't eject fully, you may have set the wrong paper size. Press the c:\users\home\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif Stop button, then open the scanner and remove the paper. Select the correct paper size when you reprint.

  • If it's wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin. Load new paper.

  • Make sure you use new, smooth, high-quality paper, that is not curled, creased, old, or too thin. Make sure to load it printable side up.

  • Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.

  • Make sure you load only up to the recommended number of sheets. If you're printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.

If the paper jams, do the following:

1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.

2. To eject the jammed paper, try turning the Epson Stylus NX400 off and then back on.

If that doesn't work and paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus NX400. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus NX400 back on.

Paper Jams if I use a high gloss Laser printer paper. Looks like an accordian before the fuser.

Good day Sir, If you are using high gloss laser printer paper I suggest load up to 25 sheets.
  • make sure the glossy or the printable side of paper faces you.
  • the paper is loaded against the right side of the paper support.
  • the paper guide rests against the left edge of the paper.
Note: photos require more drying time. Remove each photo as its exits, and allow it to dry to avoid smudging.

have a nice day, hope this will help you.

Photo Paper keeps jamming

It's the top rollers, the paper is too slick to get through them. I'm using HP photo paper, in an HP printer. It needs to do a 180, but gets jammed right where it prints, so the paper never makes it to the ink. It's an engineering problem by HP. I suggest putting a rough surface on the top edge of the photo paper, something removable but rough enough for the printer to pull the photo paper through.

The kodak gloss paper gets jammed in my hp photosmart 7350 printer towards the end of printing photos

You have an HP printer. I highly recommend you use HP photo paper for the best results. This may not solve your jamming problem but it may. HP printers are very touchy as to what photo paper you use.

Not glossing, when choosing gloss option

What type of paper are you using Mat finish paper.
Try Photo gloss paper
this option only tells the printer to give the correcet amount of ink for a particular texture of paper. The factor that controls the textured finish of a picture is what paper you use.
It does not work like a car paint shop where the paint can be manipulated

THE PRINTER WILL PRINT ON NORMAL PAPER BUT NOT ON kODAK PREMIUM P

Ok,, thanks again for the additional info. I had the same problem at one point with my HP photo printer, it seems the electronic eye that watches for the edge of the paper somehow can't see/focus on some of the high gloss papers.

How I tested it was simple. I roughed up(wrecking) one sheet and ran it through, it saw the page and printed. after that I tested with semi-gloss and it seems to work better.

Give that a try and let me know if that works.

FUJIFIM Premium Plus Photo Paper 235 g/sm Jams when printing.

Fuji paper is the arch enemy of the hp printer due to it's high gloss and the slickness of the paper - try another brand of paper. It sounds like a money grab but hp paper has a special marking on each page that is read by the printer and it often errors much less.
