Best probability is the power supply inside the machine has failed. Could be internal fuse no usually. This is generally a major repair.

Try pressing and holding code key while pressing "L" release "L"
and type 001 release the code key. If this solves the trouble but it comes back on the next power up the keyboard is bad.

Check the ywo keyboard connectors to be sure they are plugged in fully, if they are then press & hold the code key, press & rel the "L" key type 001 then release the code key.

This will put you into the english keyboard mode. To cure the problem you need a keyboard.

If you have changed the batteries the battery holder is probably corroded, take a piece of fune sand paper and clean the contacts, put the batteries in and spin them around to help them seat.

When I type, the keys move but they do not stike the ink ribbon.

You probably have a broken solenoid cap. You will need to order the cap but I do not know who has a video or instructions to do it.

If it does hold the code key, press and release the "L" key type 001 release the "L" key this sets the keyboard to U.S., if this works the cure is to replace the keyboard.
