Samsung dryer drum is not spinning. If I give little push to the belt, drum spins without any problem until cycle is over. Press start again, it will make only humming noise and will not spin.

SOURCE: "howling" noise during spin cycle (still there after changing burned off belt)

Travioso, there was two service flashes out on this model concerning the seal and bearing which means they had an issue with this washer. The howling noise you are hearing is the bearing and will need the new designed triple seal and bearing kit. This should be covered under your warranty, I believe it is 5 years. The numbers for the service flashes are TDL-0048A-B. Call Maytag and inquire about these service flashes, these should be covered. Catriver.

SOURCE: Washer won't spin

Check the washer motor. Make sure that the motor is getting correct voltage and is working and spinning when you turn it on. It sounds like the motor is bad. You can remove the back cover to get to the motor to check it out

SOURCE: The heating compenent works, but drum won't spin

Have you checked the belt? That's generally the problem when a dryer stops spinning.

My dryer initially makes a buzzing sound and will not begin the cycle until I give it a few turns manually...

you have a bad motor,if you open the door, hold the door switch in with one hand and spin the drum with the other and have someone else push the start button on and if by helping it to spin it starts usually the motor is bad but i did find on the maytag neptune style dryer that the belt cut into the belt pulley and was holding up the drum and the motor was buzzing like it was bad but like i say usually it's the motor.next time send the brand name and model number and i can help you out better.

DLE2050 making strange spinning noise

I guess I wasnt clear enough. The dryer works ok, except for the rattling sound now. It will start when i push the start button, it heats, and dries the clothes. Just noisy where before the flow sensor went off, it was pretty quiet.

Dryer heats but drum does not turn when the start button is pushe

You need to check the drum belt. With dryer empty, reach in and give it a spin. If the belt is good, it will stop in 1/2 turn or less when released. If the belt broke, it will spin almost a full turn.

When you press the start button the dryer hums and doesnt turn

first thing you need to do is open the door and try to rotate drum by hand it it is not turn by hand that mean there is some thing stack in your blower fan. if you can turn the drum by hand you need two people to check this problem..one open the door there is one push button, push that button and hold now second person need to push the start button when you heard hums sound the turn the drum by hand again if your dryer stat spin that mean you have bad motor. (forgive me for my english)

I have a WhiteKnight CL43 tumble dryer. The drum will not turn without first being turned by hand before quickly closing the door. It will then continue until its time for the drum to reverse and it stops...

Not all that familiar with the Whiteknight dryer series but a dryer is a dryer and your problem sounds like it could be narrowed down to a few things. Based on your description of the problem and without knowing how much use that dryer has been subjected to, it sounds like you have a belt slipping ..or if it is configured like many other dryers..there may be a belt tensioner that came loose. In either case, the drive motor pulley spins andthe belt doesn't have enough tension or friction on the drum to rotate it. You might try cycling it without clothes to see if it spins up... if it does spin ( without assisting it) then once you add the weight of the clothes it doesn't have enough friction to spin the drum. Hope that helps !
