Hi Lou, sounds like you have a bad igniter. If it's not drawing enough amps it won't open the gas safety valve. Fairly simple to replace if you're confident working with electrical parts,if not I'd definitely call a repair company. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: no heat in either oven

May I please have some more information. How do you know you have electricity, because the display is on, inside lights etc. Have you checked the voltage from the wall? It is possible on 220v appliances that 1/2 of the breaker has tripped, thus all the 110v systems work (like lights) except the heating elements, which are 220v. Because both ovens have the same problem, its most likely a power source problem.

SOURCE: dcs oven display dim - need part #

I just did this same repair...same part number as above (Part #211696 "Electronic Oven Control, Double).
to install you have to remove two screws on the top of the display section of the oven, as well as several screws on the bottom of it, and the screws holding the close pin/temperature probe socket.
Then you can pull off the whole top section (slowly) and remove the two connectors to the existing control unit.
Then release the ribbon cable connected to the control unit on the inside of the top section (press the two small pins inward and slide up the small front section of the black socket to release the ribbon connector.
Unscrew the old control panel, screw in the new one, connect the ribbon, and then reverse removal steps. Easy!

My DCS WOS-230SS top wall oven begins to heat up normally but then stops heating, the fan comes on, then begins heating up again. Got to 170 then went no higher. Could it be the element?

This is a tough question because we haven't mention the make and model number you should add that so we can help you better but normally if the top oven is not working properly it may have thermostat problem or it could also be control panel problem can you tell more information especially the make and model

Sometimes you can take it out and it's not working properly and take that oven and put it in self-clean mode and it might fix problems

DCS WOS-130 oven won't turn off. I've turned the breaker off and back on but each time the oven starts heating without turning it on through the controls.

This sounds like a stuck relay on the control board or in rare cases a short to ground in the oven element itself. Test the oven element terminals to the case. If there is continuity then replace the element. If it checks Ok then more than likely there is a welded relay on the board. you can try tapping the relays on the board. Sometimes this jars the contacts loose and things work again. Be prepared to replace the control if this is the case.
