If you filled up the water, removed all the safety seals from the machine and did everything else as well, then it should work indeed. If not, then bring it back.

SOURCE: continually says Add Water

There should be two little, shiny, metal, poles exposed in the water reservoir. These are used in detecting the presence of water, and must have water between them to conduct electricity, thus completing the circuit. In other words, if these shiny thingys are dirty, or water is somehow blocked from flowing between them, that is why you are having this problem.

Otherwise it's just a defective circuit board, or sensor, either way Keurig should replace the unit free of charge.

Have cuisinart ss10 coffee maker I have descaled with 2 gallons of white vinegar and the descale light won’t go out. How do I get it cleaned ?

I recently had the problem of the dreaded "de-scale" message coming up on my coffee maker. After descaling my coffee maker 3 times, the "de-scale" message wouldn't go away. I called the Customer Service number and was told to unplug the coffee maker for an hour and that should re-set the machine. I did that and still the de-scale message remained. Another phone call and another customer service representative and I was told to hold down the Hot Water and Rinse buttons together. I placed a large mug and hit the buttons. There was a good bit of water that came through but IT WORKED! The coffee maker is as clean as can be and working very well. I suggested to the Customer Service Representative that Cuisinart should include this in the instruction and troubleshooting section. But I doubt that will happen. Sad that the web site info is not updated. Wanted to share my experience so it might help others frustrated by this issue.

Why do I get the Add Water error when my reservoir is full? If I am brewing a K-cup it works fine but if I try to brew a K-carafe pack it says Add Water even though the reservoir is full. This is my 6th...

I'm writing this same answer on all issues related to "add water" issues. We just purchased a brand new 2.0 yesterday and were trying to make our first cup but could not get past "add water". Among other instructions Customer Service said the water needed to be luke warm/ room temperature. We even microwaved the water jug for a minute but it didn't work. What did work was filling the reservoir half full of jug water and then adding nearly boiling water until the reservoir was at Max level. I pushed Continue and it began to work. I used a digital thermometer and saw the water temp was 113 degrees. I hope this helps you.

I HAVE A CUISINART DCC-790 SERIES COFFEEMAKER AND IT WON'T PUMP THE WATER THROUGH

I have the same problem. Called Cuisinart and they told me to add a mix of 50 - 50 water vinegar and let it sit for up to 3 hours. (even though it is only 3 months old) If that does not work call them back 1-800-726-0190.

After the machine beeps "ready" the filter is still full of water

Make sure the lid is on the caraffe, or else it will not make the proper contact with the filter basket (and hence the filter basket will be forced into the closed position).

Funny tasting coffee

Vinegar/water cleaning is a good idea, but it won't necessarilly solve funny-tasting coffee. First, replace your charcoal water filter - you can get the Cuisinart brand-name replacements at Lowe's, Bed/Bath/Beyond, or Williams-Sonoma in most areas.

To do the vinegar/water cleaning, just pour 1/3 caraffe distilled white vinegar and 2/3 caraffe water into the water reservoir and brew it like it was regular coffee - I would simply bypass the self-clean function if your Cuisinart has one. Repeat up to 3 times, using a fresh batch of vinegar each time.
(if you have the caraffe-less DCC-2000, then just pour in 4 cups vinegar and 6 cups water).

Then run a full cycle of water. Then run a combo of 12 tsp lemon juice and 12 cups water (or 10 tsp and 10 cups water) to improve the taste.

On your next batch of coffee, use bottled water just to rule out any possibility that your local water supply may be contributing to funny-tasting coffee.

Now your coffee should be tasting fine again.
