SOURCE: electrolux canister vacuum

The easiest solution would be to call your local Aerus/ Electrolux representative, because the corporation doesnt publish diagrams.

SOURCE: canister will not release

I've done that.
There is a stem that runs down the center of the cyclone that releases the bottom. You didn't get that stem back in place. The only thing you can do is pry it open, hope is doesn't break, and put that cyclone back together correctly.

I've never broke one, but I had to pull pretty hard. Thought I was going to.

Good Luck

SOURCE: i want to take the vac apart to clean around the motor ?

I'm a Rainbow dealer. Your E Series is covered under warrenty for 4 years on the casing and 8 years on the motor. You should take it to your local Rainbow dealer and have it fixed ^_^

SOURCE: Central Vac will not turn on.

These problems are nearly exclusively caused by a bad circut board and replacing it is the fix. Bad boards can cause many different effects so its nearly impossible to be sure. The 9v signal wire is not enough to short out an entire unit so it is unlikely the hose. If it is a direct connect system and you are pulling power from the 110 somehow that would cause main unit problems but that is unlikely at best. Sounds like a failed board to me.

Best of Luck

SOURCE: I don't know how to take apart me Rainbow e2 series vac.

I recently took mine apart because the motor stopped working. Realized the brushes were pretty well worn down and one side was completely gone. I was looking on the internet for detailed instructions on how to take it apart. I ended up just ripping it apart with no problems but made a tutorial to help you guys out. Here's a link to it

This is for the e-series vaccum, not the e2 but they pretty much have the same design and same motor (e2 has a 2 stage motor).

How to put back togeather a electrolux el6989

Did you take it apart, or did somebody else? Those can be tricky. Take it to your local vac shop and have it assembled. I've been working on vacs for nearly 30 years and I can tell you, that is one of the worst ones to get together.

Rainbow series E vacuum suddenly started to make a loud clacking noise. still had suction. Turned off the motor. Checked the hepa filter just because didn't know what else to check. A clip was laying...

You are correct. They get rusted, and pop off sometimes. Clean your water separator regularly, with a Rainbow separator cleaning brush, or a toothbrush is just like it, and will work perfectly for your water separator cleaning brush, also. Your fan blades may be dirty and imbalanced also. Sometimes, the bearing housings crack.

It is probably just a popped off clip. Put it back on if you can. If not, I would just get it out of there, and do not worry about it. As long as it has atleast the other three still on there.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Don´t know how to take my Rainbow apart.

Your model is a bit newer than mine, but on mine, I have to peel off the foam rubber gasket that seals the canister to the top of the vac when you put it together. You will have to replace this gasket once you peel it off. Under the gasket are the screws that hold the top cover on.
Hopefully your model is similar to mine, and this is the answer you need!

Hi: I took my unit apart to clean it. I was careful to put it back exactly as I took it apart. Now it won't start. I also need a new filter. I rinsed it out but it still stinks.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best way is to check your owner’s manual to see the trouble shooting guide of which may help you. It could be a loose wire; or the separator could be on too tight, I am going to give you the Rainbow / RexAir Factory phone # so that you can check with cust serv or their serv tech support. Feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area also.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
The Rainbow / RexAir Factory phone number is listed below:

How do I remove the pin on my Rainbow Vacuum Model SE clips?

When I used to repair Rainbow SE vacuums for a living, I had a long nail of small diameter that I had filed the end off of just for this purpose. The pin you need to remove is grooved on each end to "catch" in the plastic housing, but a slight tap with a hammer, using this "nail" will do the trick. When you're ready to re-attach it, just tap it again to put it back in place.
