Unfortunately, there is no owner's manual available for the Sanyo FW43R48FC smart tv with Roku. Under the Downloads tab, http://www.sanyo-av.com/ca/product/product.php?id=730 , there is a quick start guide, a sales brochure leaflet and the energy savings information. There are owner's manuals for other Sanyo TVs available from their support site: http://www.sanyo-av.com/us/support/download.php . It's only the Roku models that seem to have less documentation.

Its not a smart TV, just a standard set without wi-fi capability.

If you have a smart TV it will have a WiFi setting or ethernet Jack. Check your manual and it should give you step by step instructions

A VCR to a smart TV? Only when the TV has a Scart connector and the VCS has one it will work. You need a scart cable for that. There were no VCR's with HDMI out.
