If it’s removeable, it should be obvious where screws are that hold it in place.

SOURCE: kenmore elite refrigerator, model # 59676534500

I went ahead and signed up for Sears' service warranty since I knew I had to get someone to come out.  IT costs $200/yr.  They say it covers everything, but when the technician came out, he told me that it just covers $500 per visit.  He said that a new motherboard and the labor alone was going to make it $498.  Anyway,   he had ordered a new motherboard. Apparently the motherboard wasn't working.  It is located in the back bottom left side of the refrigerator behind the panel.  There is a compartment on the lefthand side that slides out and houses the motherboard.  He put that in and also had to fix the fan that is in the back of the freezer.  That fan is the one that sends cool air up to the refrigerator part. When I had looked at the fan before the repair man came, it was not moving at all.  So at least take a look at the fan in the freezer.  Just take out the freezer drawers, and the fan is located in the top center of the freezer behind the compartment cover.  Maybe that's the problem with your refrigerator, the fan.  Hope that's all it is. Good luck!

SOURCE: Ice build-up in freezer - Kenmore Model C978-66795-2

don't know this appliance but for guidence:
some appliances have the evaporator in a compartment at the top of the freezer and the drain comes out of the back and runs externally to the drip tray. there should be a grill in the compartment so just peer into it and see if there is ice build up.
wherabouts is the freezer ice forming?

if its less than 15 years old its a direct drive whirlpool, no belt, remove the cabinet, not the back panel. look up direct drive whirlpool washer cabinet removal on internet, and replace the coupler, most likely, if it drains.

How to remove packaging

Based on personal experience, I can say that you need to remove all the cardboard and plastic wrap covering the front, back and various parts inside the refrigerator. Care must be taken to ensure that insulation, which helps the operation of the unit, intended to be part of the design is not removed. If you have a question about some specific insulation (generally styrofoam) then it might be best to call the help line for the manufacturer - they can check with technical experts on that model to determine whether it is needed or not. The primary reason for removing cardboard and wrap is to be sure that all of the necessary ventilation for the unit to operate without overheating is clear.

You need to remove all of the styrofoam packing material.
Any insulation material would be installed inside the body of the fridge/freezer. The packing material is there so anything inside the compartment (like metal shelves, plastic holders, etc. don't bounce around during shipping and either scratch up the interior, or break. That is all that it is there for.

What you didnt state was whether you had cold air blowing when the damper opened up. If you did, then the problem will be with the damper assembly itself, or the control board, which is what you would adjust to change temperatures. This microswitch you mentioned, was this on the control board? then the control board is the problem. If you did something with the damper assembly, then that might be the problem.
If you dont have any cold air blowing when you opened the damper door, then airflow is your issue, and you will have to include more symptoms for a refrigerator repair diagnosis.

Water draining in bottom of refrigerator

Unplug the refrig . Inside the refrig section , remove the 4 screws ( 2 on each side ) and
lower the panel . Disconnect the large plug and remove the panel by pulling froward to
clear the defrost drain hole .Find a food safe caulking or odorless silicon and caulk at the
upper portion where the styrofoam meets the plastic AND on the top center of the styrofoam (
all the way around the large rectangle hole ) so that the styrofoam will seal to the top of
the refrig . When the refrig goes into defrost , the water is seeping between the refrig top
and the styrofoam , causing it to run into the refrig section . When reassembling , be sure
to plug the large plug back into the refrig .

Lsc26905tt = chunks of styrofoam coming from ice maker

Over the past few years the appliance companies have found that it is less costly and more efficient to replace the traditional spray in foam insulation to Styrofoam panels. They do sometimes shift. When they shift they can come in contact with the fan. The blade shaves them and then blows the foam particles into the unit. If you are comfortable with doing repairs then you can fix this. You will need to un-plug the refrigerator and remove everything in the freezer. You will see a series of screws in the back inside panel. Take these screws out and remove the panel. You will expose the coil and fan assembly. Inspect it and make any adjustments to the foam at this time. assemble in reverse. Hope this helps. Good luck. RE-post with updates. Thanks cj2176.
