What did you actually clean? An outside the hull transducer MIGHT only need a LIGHT sanding on its face with 400 grit WET sandpaper. What did you refill...and with what did you refill it?? What did you disassemble? If you took your unit apart, time to send it to the factory and pray they can fix it!!

SOURCE: lorance x25 and x48 configuration, same transducer imput to unit?

The answer is yes. The transducer will fit both units fine without any modification.

It is not the transducer. the transducer just provides the sonar reading back to the display. The issue is with the display head unit. Have you tried to adjust the contrast for the fading? Does the screen disappear after awhile? Is the head unit mounted close to other navigation equipment, such as a Compass that may cause interference?

SOURCE: The carpet cleaner does not spray cleaner, nor

Hi

The issue may be due to flow system; to troubleshoot the system follow the instructions--

1. Remove Smart Mix piston from the main housing and place Smart Mix body (located beneath the knob on the main housing, inside of the unit) so that it is 1/16" from completely inserted.

2. Replace tanks in unit.

3. Plug unit in and turn it on.

4. Pull trigger to check spray -- making sure upper handle is firmly positioned onto the lower handle. Water should flow through tubing from the tank to the pump and the red float inside the pump should move up. If it doesn't, replace the pump.

5. Check the tubes for air bubbles as the unit is spraying -- bubbles indicate an air leak that prevents pump from priming.

6. Locate the source of any air leaks and correct them, looking first at the auto load receiver (under the tank) and the Smart Mix assembly.

Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Lowrance HDS-12. I lost the picture on the screen when cruising down the lake. What is causing this problem?

Question edited for clarity.

The first thing to check is the fuse to the unit. The could be a fuse block for accessories on the boat, or it could be an inline fuse to the unit itself or both.

The pull all the plugs from the rear of the unit and check for corrosion. Spray with WD40 and replace the plugs carefully and tighten the fixing screws evenly.

If that doesn't fix it, it may be the transducer, but you should still get a picture for chartplotting. There is no way to check them for correct operation, but try this

https://sportfishingbuddy.com/how-to-tell-if-transducer-is-bad/

so if all that fails, you will need to return it for repair. There are some troubleshooting ideas here. This easy fix is on the Lowrance site

*Screen goes dark?: If your display turns on, shows the blue Lowrance screen, and then goes completely dark, most likely you have accidently shut your backlight off while powering off your unit.
To resolve this problem, once the unit is powered on and the screen is dark, simply press the "Power" button a few times until the screen brightens back up. Do not hold the "Power" button down, just quickly press and release the button.
To prevent this from happening again, when powering off your display, simply press the "Power" button one time and then select "Power Off." This will save all settings and features and safely shut down your display.

Hello, our Raymarine ST40 depth sounder on our trailer sailer has stopped working only shows 0.00 depth on the display screen. However the metres symbol now flashes on/off. I have checked the cable...

now there is a chance that the transducer is bad ,, but I would check the battery voltage and make sure you have a soild 12 volts to the unit. also in my many years of working with and installing these units on boats I have see the needle pins ( where the plug inserts in the back of the display unit ) bend and/or break off completely. look in the plug area of the display unit and make sure all pins are intact. one more place to look for the problem is in the plug itself, take the plug apart and inspect the wire connection and make sure they are all good. if after all the above has been checked then I would assume that it is the transducer itself.
if you have anymore questions with this problem, please feel free to write back and ask,

I want to see the schematic diagram of humminbird fish finder transducer, my fishfinder won't operate. if i plug another unit of transducer, the my fishfinder operates normally.

Hi Greg and Ernesto:
Re-stating the obvious, your transducer is not working but you know that the sounder is.
I would start by checking to see if your transducer works on a different sounder. That's just a double check to confirm that it really is not working.
Then I'd try to isolate the problem:
- Plug (couold be corroded or damaged)
- wire (could be broken)
- Transducer (could be defective)
Since these are sealed units, I'd be checking with the supplier to try to find a replacement. Hopefully they are not too expensive, and time spent fishing is better than trying to maybe save a few dollars, especially if you're taking out charters.
Best of luck.

When at speed i tend to lose sight of the bottom it becomes very broken. Also the depth reading takes a while to record depth.

What you are experiencing sounds like air bubbles crossing the face of the transducer. If you have a transom mount transducer check the face of the transducer. Make sure that it is clean. Also make sure the front of the transducer is a tiny bit lower than the back. The digital readout on the screen will only happen when you have a strong signal of the bottom.

Flip up screen won,t illuminate. dark

if the screen needs to be wired to the dash light switch it will not change unless the lights are on, if the wire is disconnected it is possible to bypass it making the screen stay bright.
although it would seem more likely that the brightness could be adjusted on the unit settings or by a button on the unit itself

Sonar does not appear to work - not picking up depths or bottom structure. All other functions look good.

This problem is most likely linked with your transducer.

1. Check your transducer cable and make sure the plug terminals are clean, as well as the plug on the back of the unit.
2. Make sure the transducer cable is plugged in correctly and securely.
3. Make sure the transducer is in the water and mounted according to the directions, parallel to the bottom of the boat
4. Turn the unit on while the boat is in the water, but with the engine OFF.

IF it works when the engine is off, but vanishes when the engine is on, you may be having electrical interference.

IF it works when the engine is running, but vanishes when the boat is moving, it is a turbulence problem. Move the transducer.

IF it does not work at all, try borrowing a new or a "known good" transducer and seeing if it works then. If so, replace the transducer.

Let us know if these work or now.

Lowrance LCX-19C GPS Receiver Problem

It sounds like you may have to send it out for service, but before you you do there are a few things you can try.

Low voltage can cause erratic behavior. Since you already wired directly to the battery, check the plug for corrosion.

Try unplugging the transducer cable to see if the display still behaves erratically. You wont see depth readings but you should still see the screen going black. If no erratic behavior with transducer unplugged then problem is in the transducer cable or the plug. A common source of failure is at the plug because the added stress of plugging and unplugging cables can cause the socket to twist slightly which can cause a short.

Make sure you have the latest software update.

How to see if your LCX-19C is already using version 1.8.0 software:
  1. Press the MENU button twice on your LCX-19C.
  2. Select SYSTEM SETUP.
  3. Select SOFTWARE INFORMATION.
  4. The software version for your unit is located under the line that says "LCX-19C" (ex. "Version 1.8.0").
  5. If your version is the same version listed above, there is no need to download the software.
If it is lower than 1.8.0 you can download the update from this link: LCX-19C UPDATE
Copy it onto a blank MMC card and install it in your GPS. The GPS should prompt you on how to install the update.

If you need to send the unit in for service click this link: LOWRANCE SERVICE

Good luck!
