We have an older cat engine, a D353-e. The temp sensor on it is a model 297-9314. This is designed to close at about 245. this is too high, and would like to find one that closes at 210-220 degrees.

My 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee has run hot for the last year. The garage changed the thermostat 3 times and didn't solve the problem. Decided to look at it myself. Thought the radiator might be the problem - clogged? To remove the radiator the headlights, grille, and bumper cover etc needed to be removed. Turned out the radiator was clean inside and held pressure. Problem was junk between the fins stopping the air flow. Radiator shop blew out between the fins with air and it's worked great since.No more overheating.

I had a simular issue, except mine was that the previous owner decided to mess with all the settings and mounts and screwed everything up.

The problem isn't your force sensors its your downwards stopping sensor on the opposite side of the opener. For me I had to take the entire panel off and replace the sensor back in its holder, but try adjusting that sensor setting (clockwise goes down, counterclockwise goes up).

If that doesn't work then i dunno:)

Also set both force settings in between 0-1, for some reason with mine if i set it higher it would set them off....

Probably the temp gauge itself. Most of the time it doesn't have a problem but sometimes they do go bad. Did the car ever overheat prior to changing the solenoid?

it is fine and sounds like it is running at a high efficentcey. I wouldnt worry about it as long as it dosent cycle too much.

05 Forenza green clock light keeps flashing. Also catalytic converter overheating causing heating and burning wires

2.0L engine,
the stock car had nice wiring , harness wiring and clamps and works great, until..
but someone hacked yours all up,
why not photo the clock light, no idea at all what that means.
photo it and post .
does clock mean the TIME CLOCK or does that mean the SPEEDO CLOCK warning lamps glow, see 2 photos of me guessing what clock means , on your car.

what makes you think the cat is too hot, do tell.
why.? (sure they do , and is symptoms of rich)
but is normal to get hot, they all do.
the cat can go to 3000F normally, you do know that right.?
my guess is you failed to scan the PCM.
or ask any shop in town to do that.
(if the check engine light is on get car serviced)
same for too hot cat.
same for misfire, makes cat hot too.
same for sure if the CEL lamp flashes
the operators guide tells you that that means overheating the cat, as designed to do.
on all cars.

the burned wires, are hacks.
Hacks as in letting unskilled works touch car.
they hack it up bad. (or butchers)
the weak wires do not get near the cat. on a stock car.
then come to the 02 at 90degree angle,
the o2 wires actual pig tails wires are high temp special wire, very high temp..

but not the harness side, they will melt if hacked , hacker cut the clamps up and allowed the soft low temp harness side hit the cat or exhaust
He did a hack job
he fail to put it back as he found it, sad no?.


the engineer of your car designed the cat and wire
to be ok, even if say , then engine thermostat failed cold and the fuel mix goes gross RICH.
that is all part of the engineering done !!!
see those cat shields, they also must be in place.

then the CAT gets way hotter , why hotter, this is its job.
it's job is to burn up (catalyze ) all that wasted rich fuel.
to keep the earth green. (includes lungs)
it burns HC, Hydrocarbons and gets even RED hot.
the problem is 2 fold
bad wiring
and not scanning the PCM.

I have 99 bmw 323i.i ran it hot and got prob fixed and now the eml and a triangle with circle around it comes on dash and car has no power.feels like it has a rev limiter.wats wrong with my car

have throttle body checked also the MDK throttle motor,
make sure that the dealer has followed service bulletin 12 07 99 for procedure to replace the MDK throttle motor
also have them check for codes,here are some codes,
it could be an expensive job,have them check everything,it is most likely the throttle motor,,throttle body is 600 if they switch it,dont let them do it without checking throttle motor,

Have a maytag range model number mer5555qcw oven temperature will not go higher than 245

Hi

This means a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Car overheats in slow traffic. If the air conditioner is turned on, car cools. Fans seem to come on, but only come on high speed with air conditioner.

Check your coolant temp sensor its most likely bad. Just keep in mind that they sometimes have two of them one for the gauge and one that turns on the fan. The sensor is most the time in the head of the engine.

it could be as simple as drilling holes in your catalytic converter or replacing them. Alot of these symptoms show up because of a plugged cat. converter or fried o2 sensors

Engine coolent temp circuit high input. what is

More than likely the fan switch in the radiator has failed or the fan itself has failed / is not running, so the water returning from the radiator to the engine is HOT therefore you are seeing the high coolant temp input indication. Check out the operation of your radiator fan.

If the fan circuit is OK then the water temp thermostat may very well be be stuck closed.

Engine surging , won't accelerate over 3000 rpm ! IS chocking is like is not enogh gas

Could also be fuel filter/pump.

Nothing is easy when it comes to older exhaust systems... But if you want to bypass the cat then do that. Seperate the exhaust system before the cat. But not before the oxygen sensors. It will be loud and just run it to verify if it's the problem. Cars are designed to have the cat there under normal conditions. Unlike older cars :)
