The alarm module is most likely failing. They fail internally sometimes. There is no way to remove it I'm sorry to say. It will need to be taken to a trusted shop and replaced.

I hope this helps

Message engine system requires service

Most of the time this comes on when you need to do maintenance. Check with the dealer to see if this is the problem. Most of the time if you talk to Service they will help you to reset it if you do your own oil changes. I do my own on my 1997 Saab 900 SE Turbo and reset it myself.

Volvo s60 2001 engine service required message

Take it to Advance or Auto Zone and they will scan it for free to tell you how to reset it, or they will reset it themselves. That message is on a timer for the vehicle to get serviced

I have emission system requires service in my volvo s60 2001 can anyone please list for me the possible part defeacts causing this error, and how i can fix it ?? thank u appreciate any help!!

its not a defective problem it is a reminder to change the oxy. sensor you can clear this buy removing the positive cable for five min reconnect stat engine. the best solution is to take the car to the nearest parts store like auto zone will check the codes and will provide asst to the oxygen sensor replacement . see the oxygen sensor helps maintain proper gas and air ratio to provide you with the best gas mileage 14.7to1 ratio in these times the money you spend to replace the sensor will save you in gas money in the long run plus you are helping the environment thanks for the question Lee
