SOURCE: Subtitle Problem: Onkyo TX-sr605
The only remote that will definitely turn the sat subtitles on/off is the sat remote. The other subtitle buttons on the other remotes refer to the DVD subtitles and the subtitles generated by the tuner in the tv. The subtitle option is greyed out on the tv because you are not on the tv tuner.

SOURCE: Onkyo 805 sub hook up problem
I made the same mistake when i hooked my REL sub up to the back of the 805.
The problem is there are 2 connectors on the back of the amp that are labeled as sub out. Look very closely, you will see that there are 2 grouped RCA outs. The RCA out group you are looking for differentiated by groups of "little white dots" all the way to the far right on the back of the amp. Hope this helps.

You will need to connect the speakers to the front channels as you would with any normal set(Speaker + to amp +, speaker - to amp -, etc) then you connect the special Bose equalizer through a tape monitor loop and always have the monitor loop engaged.

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "CBL/SAT" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings, Thanks, JT
"PHONO" is the only designated connection on an audio device that is literal and exclusive. Nothing but PHONO will work right on it and old-school turntables would require it to preamplify the tiny current produced by a Phono cartridge.
If your unit doesn't have a PHONO connection you will have to get a Phono Preamp to connect between the TT and any Line Level input, like Aux. eBay always has some... http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3984.m570.l1311&_nkw=phono+preamp&_sacat=See-All-Categories
