SOURCE: Sharp DVD disc error

I've found out that the recording speed is important for this model. The speed on the dvd must be 4x or less. If your using an 8x or 16x it will not work. Hope this helps.

Maybe you can help me. I'm looking for the 4 digit code that goes into the remote to make it compatible. I think it's in the operators manual, which I no longer have. If you can find this number I would really appreciate it.

Hi,
I had a similar no audio issue when using the I-Link connector and 8mm camcorder. I found that if i selected "Manual" rather than "Automatic" (copy everything) that I got good audio as well as video.

I have tried using a later model Sony miniDV camcorder with A to D passthrough from my 8mm Sony camcorder that I get better Video color using RCA cables directly from the 8mm Camcorder but better audio from the I-Link passthrough above.

Sony Handycam DVD 650 - After recording on a disk and the disk is full, it went to a screen that is locked. It says "Formatting Start" and only offers formatting issues. I do not want to format as it...

Dear Sir,
Yes you are right, lots and lots have lost very nice recordings on these silly CD and Hard-Drive cameras, and with so many people having problems I hope Sony go back to the 8mm takes because some recordings we all like to make mean too much for us to just re-format over them.
While your CD is in your camera press the reset button, that puts menu back and camera like new, your disk will pop out okay that way.
I do think though that you should try to pick up a good Sony 8mm camera for those important movies, that way you know you always will have them.

Either my computer or dvd does not read movies recorded by this camcorder. Why?

hi. in many DVD camcorders. you are suposed to closed o finalize the dvd disk . by doing this it will be playback compatible with your pc or dvd player.

NOTE
after finalizing a disk you will not able to record any longer on that disk (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RAM, DVD RW) If you record for 5 minutes and finalized the dvd it will have a 5 min movie !!!

I have a sharp camcorder model vl-e785u and I am needing to know if there is somehow to download my tapes to a computer to burn to a cd.

I don't know about downloading to a computer, but you can buy a VCR/DVD recorder for about $140, put the VHS-C cartridge in the adapter and transfer to a DVD, or plug your Camcorder into a DVD recorder (about $119) and copy. It couldn't hurt to check out some of the transfer services that could do a little editing and copying for a modest fee.

Have you finalized the disk? I would suggest that you put it back in the camera and finalize.

Copying 8mm tapes to dvd

try taking your audio and video cables from the camcorder and plugging them into the line 1 inputs of the dvd recorder try playing the camcorder and if you can see the video from the camcorder on your tv when it's plugged into the line1 of your burner then hit the record and make sure teh dvd burner is set to accept a signel form the line 1 inputs then it should record. but remembermust selsct the line 1 inputs before you start to record, by defualt they are set to tv/cable.

Transferring to DVD?

Maybe when you play the 8mm tape on the TV and have DVD/TV recorder hook up to the TV.
