It's absolutely normal, cockatiel replace feathers every season and you don't have to be worried about it. i have a blue parrot he's really cute but annoying in the morning lol he always wakes me up, he can speak some crazy words like hello, mom, and dad. He taught them because my little son keep saying them. And he is changing his feathers these days which is normal but the most important thing to do during this period is to feed him well and mix some sugar with water to give him a complete diet. I used to feed him sunflower seeds for birds from https://www.kennedywildbirdfood.co.uk/bird-food/sunflower-seeds-and-hearts/ past years and it was really good for him during the changing period.
A cockatiel will lose its tail feathers and some other feathers at least once a year, usually, again, around this time of year. This is called a molt. It is similar to shedding. They will grow their feathers back, it is okay. During this time, tail feathers usually look very weak and mangled. Again, this is normal.
SOURCE: I have 4 cockatiels, what cage size should I get?
These are beautiful birds! Cage should be 24"x 22" x 30" for one bird - 1/2" to 3/4" bar spacing
SOURCE: What's the best food for my cockatiels
A good seed mix, pellets, grains, freshvegetables and fruit. Remove fresh items after being out for 2 hours toprevent bacterial growth.
SOURCE: What's your problem? Our bird cage finish is chipping. Can I paint it myself?
My recommendation is to call the manufacturer
for paint recommendations and, believe it or not, some cage manufacturers will
do that for you. In any event, you must make sure the paint is nontoxic since
most birds do scratch it with their beak. After painting Make sure you let it
dry completely: Permit the paint to dry for at least 48 hours before moving
your bird into the cage, so be prepared to have a secondary cage on hand. Also
you should know that although paint may be nontoxic when dry, there are paints
may be harmful to your bird if inhaled, so paint it as far as you can from your
birds, outdoor area preferred.
SOURCE: What's a travel bird cage?
The travel bird cage is usually a smaller version of
a normal bird cage. The travel bird cage does not need to be large, nor does it
need to be as durable as your bird cage. Be sure that your bird can comfortably
fit in this cage for a short amount of time so that it will not become
stressed.
SOURCE: I'm looking to order bird cages online do you have any recommendation?
I suggest you to have a look at http://www.birdcages.com/helpfulinfo.cfm. I
personally purchased a parrot perches from their site and I was very pleased
with their customer service and their products. If you're looking for a bird
cage you'll find it there.
I have found a chart that outlines the appropriate bar
