Go into settings and change the region. but some DVD players will not let you change the region. but some will. just change the region to 1

As far as i know unlocking by codes is the simple and safest way.unlock using software delete some information in memory i unlock my phone using codes ,i got codes from http://www.superunlockcodes.com/motorola-w370/rs12wp9/
I used codes to unlock my cell phone. i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked.

How can I make the LG BD550 regioncodefree?

This model is already Region Free for DVDs but only Region A (in most cases) for Blu Rays and can't be changed. You can buy a version of this which is sometimes called BDP550 which is Region Free for DVDs and Blu Rays.
