I realize this question has been around for a long while, but with the price of a new radio being so low, I can't imagine why anyone would be bothered with trying to source the part (spendy...) and try to repair the unit.
Welcome to the age of disposable electronics.

You might start by contacting Uniden's customer service. The phone number for Parts and Service is 1-800-554-3988. The phone number for Customer Service is 1-800-586-0409, I had an Oceanus, and I was impressed with Uniden's friendliness & support.
try this link and good luck.........

You may have a sub-channel/privacy channel activated. Unless the person/s you are trying to talk to have the same channel and code set they will not be able to hear you. Check your manual for specific instructions on how to reset it to the default.
Try moving your antennas further apart. If they are already a couple feet apart, mount the Uniden in another location away from the stereo if possible. You might check with a radio shop about a filter. Your Uniden operates in the 150MHz range and the stereo receives in the 88-107MHz range. Good Luck.
While your MC610 was a great radio for it's time. the Oceanus is an excellent choice to replace your MC610. Unforunately you would be looking at about a $100.00 repair bill to repair your MC610. for just a little more you get a new radio and the new radio will have a warranty.
