The lid of my 2.0 Keurig closes but not quite all the way, so it does not make a tight seal. When I brew a cup it leaks water out the lid. Is it shot or is it fixable?

SOURCE: Not Brewing

We have had this problem intermittently but we had a bigger problem that I solved yesterday. Our LCD display was not displaying properly - words were missing so we just had to guess when it was ready to brew. I called Keurig and they offered a new one for $100 since it was out of warranty. They did ask me if I had descaled the machine and, I'm embarassed to say, I had never done that. Well I descaled the machine and viola! - my LCD display completely came back just like new! Here's hoping the intermittent brewing problem is resolved as well! If you haven't descaled the machine recently, I would strongly suggest giving that a try for any problems you might be having. Of course, to descale, the machine has to at least be able to brew in order to get the vinegar through the machine...

SOURCE: My Keurig just started only filling my mug 1/2

Have you tried following the descaling procedure given in your owner's manual? The mineral build-up from hard water can cause low flow, and since the machine pumps for a fixed time this means less water in the cup. Descaling usually brings back normal operation.

Bunn VPR 12-cup pourover is leaking water from the back at the bottom every time I pour water in. It leaks about 1/2 cup or more. Is there a seal or gasket I can replace to remedy this?

VPR has a semi-sealed tank that keeps +1 pot of water heated and ready to brew. Pouring in a full pot of cold water will fill the top tray and allow a slow trickle of cold water into the top which forces hot water to over flow into the brew basket. This continues until all the cold water drains into the heater tank. So the brew is matched volume per volume. UNLESS the thank was empty or not filled prior to brewing. Follow the brewing instructions from Bunn (on line for *FREE* download at Bunn.com)
* If it leaks (from the bottom) only when you pour in water. Then your pouring it too fast and over flowing the fill tray. slowdown, watch the level in the tray. do not fill past the lid.
* If it leaks just sitting (not brewing) then there is a hole in the tank. Call for service.
* If it leaks after filling the tray half way. then the top of the tank has a leak, loose, cracked, or missing gasket. There is quite a few gaskets on the lid. Call for service.
* Final; Leaks are always bad around electrical equip. Best to unplug and call for service to be safe.

Keurig troubleshooting

First open and close the lid again to ensure the brewer was prepared to brew BEFORE you close the lid on a kcup. Failing that, you could try unplugging the brewer for a few seconds, and trying again once the brewer has indicated it is ready to brew.

I am descaling my Keurig for the 2nd time, it fills 2 cups w/vinegar and stops and won' start again, tells me its ready, help

A. Prepare
Step 1: Make sure you have 48 ounces of white vinegar on hand. You will also need an empty sink and a ceramic mug (Do not use a paper cup.)
Step 2: Empty the water in the water reservoir
B. Fill and Clean
Step 1: Pour the vinegar into the water reservoir and fill it to the top edge of the clear viewing area.
Step 2: Place a ceramic cup in the drip tray and run a brew cycle. DO NOT USE A K-CUP...just press the large cup button. Pour the contents of the cup into the sink.
Step 3: Repeat the brew process until the water reservoir is empty, pouring the contents of the cup into the sink after each cycle. Remember to open and close the lid between each cycle.
Step 4: Now fill the reservoir with fresh water and let the brewer stand for 4-hours while it is still on.
C. Rinse
Step 1: Ensure the water reservoir is filled with fresh water.

Step 2: Place a ceramic cup on the drip tray and run a regular brew cycle. Once again, DO NOT USE A K-CUP...Pour the contents of the cup into the sink.

Step 3: Repeat the brew process until the water reservoir is empty.

Step 4: You may need to perform additional brew cycles if you notice any residual taste.

Keurig K10 water spills out top and sides while brewing

Check to make sure the rubber gasket is still on the water output in the brew head. It goes around the water output needle in the top of the brew head. Without that gasket, there is no seal on the top of the k-cup and water can leak. Run it with no K-cup in it and see of water does not leak this way. If it doesn't leak then it points to a missing seal. Hope this works for you.

Water leaks when in brewing mode

If you are having problems with leaks while brewing, do the following: Under the top lid there is a needle that punches the hole in the k-cup, this needle has an o-ring on it. Move the o-ring about 1/8 to 1/4 down towards the sharp point. This will allow the o-ring to seal against the k- cup.

I have a keurig b30 and has been working great but now it will not recognize any of my cups so the flashing blue light will not come on to start brewing? none of them are clear and have all worked in the...

I haven't solved the problem, but I continue to disassemble my K30. Most likely points of failure for the blue start light not coming on appear to be a sensor to detect the cup is in place (two small holes on the left/right front edge of the cup holder) or a sensor in the resovoir lid where the blue pin presses on a pressure switch. I did find that the red wire to this switch gets caught in the lid hinge and may be damaged. I will post more if I finally discover the root cause but may just go to Bed Bath & Beyond and buy the resovoir model with a 2 year warranty. Lesson learned. Cheap switches and mechanical devices.

Coffee tastes like rubber / plastic - brand new Keurig Platinum - any suggestions?

After getting in touch with the Keurig folks - I tried their solution. And... it worked! The coffee this morning tastes wonderful! Here is what they said:

To get rid of the "new brewer taste", we recommend you flush three reservoirs of water through the system. Please add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar to the first reservoir of water. To do this, follow these simple steps:
~ Open and close the handle to simulate a brew cycle (without a K-Cup)
~ Press the largest cup size and brew a cup of water.
~ Repeat the process (opening and closing the lid, then brewing) until the reservoir is empty.
~ Flush two more reservoirs of water through the brewer in the same way.

This process will clear any lingering odors or flavors and allow you to enjoy an unadulterated cup of coffee.
