I haven't used my New Home 7500 in quite awhile. When I turned it on yesterday the message on screen was "Feed error". The Fed dogs won't move and I can't determine what is causing the error message. I don't see any fabric jam or obstruction. Thank you for any light you can shed. I hope to save this oldy but goody machine if not too expensive.

Try removing the cover plate on the bottom of the free arm and cleaning out the lint and then lubricate the feed system and see if that frees it up,

SOURCE: Fabric won't advance, bobbin case not turning, feed dogs not moving properly

It's a Singer 5830C -- schooling machine. It's crappy. I'm guessing that a new machine is my best option. For the time being, I'm using my mother-in-law's old metal Nelco.

SOURCE: feed dog problem.

Open the bobbin case door and there should be a lever sitting off to the right. It moves from left to right. For the feed dogs to be in the up position the lever should be to the left.

SOURCE: My kenmore 385 won't feed fabric

Check to see what pattern is selected. Be sure it isn't the buttonhole.Select straight stitch.Move the stitch length setting to 4.Turn the handwheel and see if the feed dogs move forward. Press the reverse lever and see if they move backwards. Select straight stretch stitch and turn the wheel to see if the feed dogs move forward and backward.Check the presser foot release on top of the machine and make sure there is pressure on the foot.
Sometimes the reverse assembly on this machine stops working because it has the wrong type of grease on it and it turns into a hard gummy mess that won't let it work.

SOURCE: Kenmore Sewing machine model 385.1884180, feed dog quit pulling

Sometimes there is a lot of lint build-up in the feed dog, it may want to move, but it can't because of the dust. Remove dust before you oil!

I was given a New Home Memory Craft 7500. I have no manual.

I believe it's related to the feed dogs. Remove the needle plate and clean the area of any debris. If you recently broke a needle, a piece of needle may have jammed the feed dog mechanism.

The manual is available as free download with no registration required at the following;

Brother sewing machine lx 2022 won't feed fabric

Need more information. Is the machine new? Has it fed correctly before? Is the fabric very thin? Are you using a foot that is not original to that machine. Have the feed dogs been lowered? Check these out. Then come back

Is your machine mechanical? If so, sounds like the feed dogs are stuck in the lowered position. Needs good cleaning and oiling.

How do I raise the feed dos

Consult your owner's manual. There is a switch, lever, or knob somewhere on your machine that raises the feed dogs. If they are stuck in the down position and your machine is mechanical, could very well be it has seized due to lack of cleaning and oiling.

Feed dogs won't move

No info on the sewing machine make or model. It sounds like something is binding up, is bent, or is tangled in the machine. Look around the front and back of the sewing area for a switch to lower the feed dogs.

Good luck

Does 514 pressure foot move?

what is the name of the machine?
do you want a manual?
the feed dogs are what move the fabric thru the machine, the presser foot only hold the fabric against the feed dogs so the feed dogs can move the fabric
the feed dogs in the needle plate area should be up

My 2140 has the lower feed dog error message

A good clean is always useful, Remove needle, and the side cover over the lamp if you can. Remove the feed dog cover plate. Use an air blaster can to remove fluff, then I personally spray everything with WD40 to remove gunge. If you are able, use a length of cotton tape wetted with WD40 to remove gunge from the tension plates. Wipe off any surplus WD40. Then oil the hook and bobbin race with good quality sewing machine oil, do not use any other oil.

The feed dog will rise as soon as you turn the handwheel one time. Just put the fabric in it and sew. It will come up automatically as long as you have moved the lever to the correct position.
