Chances are you have an issue with a door switch or door switch mount, or most likely, a shorted cook relay.

SOURCE: Microwave still continues after cooking time is ended

It is the fan. Im guessing it only happens on combination cook and not when you are only using the microwave setting. It happens because the oven is hot and it helps to cool it quicker. It is normal. The microwaves are not working and neither is the oven-just the fan.

GE spacemaker microwave turns off during cooking and display goes black

Step 1:

Door Switch

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, a door switch might have failed intermittently. Check each of the door switches for any signs of overheating, arcing, or burning. Also check each of them for continuity. Replace any of the switches that is visibly damaged or that only has continuity intermittently

Step 2:

Main Control Board

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops there may be a short circuit in the main control board. Check other components first, these boards are often misdiagnosed.

Touchpad and Control Panel

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad and control panel might be defective. There are several other components that can cause this problem, be sure to check any other components before replacing this board.

Touchpad

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad might be at fault. This is not common. Generally speaking, if the microwave display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.

High Voltage Transformer

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the high voltage transformer might have an intermittent short. This is not common. Check other components related to the microwave symptom first.

Thermostat

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the thermostat might be defective. Watch our video on testing thermostat

I have Amana Commercial microwave RFS12SW2 The fan keeps running even door is open , it wont stop.

These microwaves are designed to run the fan for a couple mins after the cook cycle to continue cooling the electrical components.

Occassionally (about 5% of the time) the microwave continues to cook and buzz after the timer has run out and the fan stops running.

sounds like the program bord is faulty,, when your finished cooking leave the door open a little that will save the microwave from trying to cook nothing?

MW8119SB cooks when door is closed regardless of settings

Clear the cook cycle when you remove the food. Some microwaves pick up where they left off, so you don't have to keep pressing buttons.

Sharp Carousel R-530CW

Hi, I am not sure of the cost concerning the control board, however, it does sound like a control board problem, or a door switch problem, I would need to see the specific unit diagram to know for sure, but many microwaves, not all, but many, have a door switch related to that part of the circuit, usually the fuse would blow at that point, but there again, it depends on the circuit. I would suggest you get the unit checked soon however. Hope that helps somewhat, and thank you.
