How do i shut mac off then put start up disk in ?

Simple. Load the Apple System start-up disc first while the computer is running. You should see its icon on on the screen. Then select restart from the Apple Menu on the top left of the screen. Hold down the C key as it reboots. You will now boot into the start-up disc. This method also applies to Disc Warrior and other tools. Alternately, with the computer already running, insert the Apple System start-up disc then go to System Preferences also under the Apple menu, Under the start-up disc icon, select your apple system icon and restart.
Third alternative. With the computer running insert Apple System start-up disc. Restart the computer. Before the chime, press and hold the option key, left-hand bottom side of the keyboard to the left of the Apple (Command) key. You will see your system HD icon and the screen as well as your Apple System disc. Click on the System Disc and that will boot the machine.

Hi, when I turn on the Acer Aspire 5920, the acer screen comes on, the bar across the bottom moves, then it goes to a blank dark screen with a blinking cursor. I have tried turning off and turning on and...

Check if your hard rive indicator light is flashing (has disc shape icon or can shape icon next to it). If it is then put in your windows disc and do a startup repair. Make sure it is booting from the disc drive first. if it isnt flashing then you may have a dead hard drive. Try taking the hard drive out and putting it back in.

Will not open ,screen goes dark ,asked to restart

Make sure that the power supply is good. If you have a good power supply, test with bootable Mac OS X install Disc. Start the computer holding down the option button. two icons should show up the disc icon and the hard drive icon. select the install disc. If everything boots OK then there is a problem with the hard drive. If you can't boot at all there is other hardware problem(s).
You will then have to take it to a Apple Genius. Make sure you make an appointment first. http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/

Wont boot on its own, wont boot with install disc,

As the hard disk appears to be showing up when you boot up using the install disc, I would suspect that the system is somewhat corrupted. You could reinstall the system again and if you are happy starting from scratch and wiping the hard drive select this option failing that and there is some data on the imac you could install using the preserve user data. A fresh install should sort out any problems. Hope this helps.

After saving to a disc, how do I then download to my computer?

Once saved to a disk, information can be downloaded to the computer through the "my computer screen".

Insert the disc into the computer and open the "my computer" screen. Then right click on the CD/DVD icon in that screen which should list your inserted disc.

From the right click menu, select "explore".

A new screen will open with the contents of the disc.

ctrl+A selects everything.
ctrl+C copies everything.

Navigate to the address you'd like to download your information to.

ctrl+V pastes everything into that directory.

I would by pass disk repair and unfortunately go straight to reinstalling Leopard. When you get icon and it asks what you wish to do you want to reinstall and safe old files. Once you reinstall leopard you will find all your old files in previous system located in hd icon.

Can't launch the SpongeBob Squarepants Typing disc.

Maybe the file on the disc wasn't recorded well.
Try to insert another disc, if the file on that another disc opens, then the problem is with your disc, but if it doesn't then the poblem is with your pc.

The play game icon not showing on his PSP

Is there a disc in the drive? If so, it sounds like your UMD drive (or disc) is damaged. Does it only happen with one game or with all your son's games?
